When the Walt Disney World Resort reopened after a months-long COVID closure, there were a lot of things that were very different. For one thing, theme park attendance numbers were very limited, most restaurants were closed, and up close and personal character interactions were a very big no-no. In order to bring more characters to the parks without risking interactions, Disney created more character cavalcades, and Guests loved it.
If you are not familiar with the term, character cavalcades are small shows where characters travel down the main street of the Park and wave to Guests. The cavalcades are much smaller than traditional parades, but they can bring in some truly great characters. Disney had a few cavalcades — mainly at Hollywood Studios — before the pandemic, but those were increased after the reopening. During these shows, Guests can see some of their favorite characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto, but they can also see newer characters like Anna and Elsa.
Disney has just announced that one of its most popular new characters will soon be making her Magic Kingdom debut! Mirabel Madrigal, from the hit Disney film Encanto, will be joining the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade beginning June 26! Disney Parks Blog shared more information on Mirabel’s appearance at Magic Kingdom:
Let’s kick things off with some exciting news for Magic Kingdom Park. We may not talk about Bruno, but we can definitely talk about Mirabel making her debut in the “Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade” on June 26! The young hero from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit film “Encanto” will join Miguel from “Coco,” Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” Max, Goof, Moana and more as this super-sized cavalcade winds through the park several times each day.
This is not the first time that Mirabel will be seen in a Disney Park. For months, Guests were able to visit Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort and see Mirabel in Paradise Gardens Park. She then moved over to Disneyland Park and can currently be found in Tomorrowland. At this time, Disney has not shared if and when a Mirabel meet and greet will come to Walt Disney World.
