It’s no secret that Walt Disney World Resort serves some seriously delicious cocktails. And it’s also no secret that some guests love to enjoy those cocktails during their time at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
However, drinking at Disney World has become a debate point among theme park guests. It seems that too many guests don’t know their limit and proceed to get drunk and act foolish, ruining not only their day but the day of the people with them.

And now, one woman’s drunken behavior has led not only to her arrest, but also her child being taken from her.
According to a recently released report from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Suzan Shimmary was intending to head to the Magic Kingdom with her toddler on June 3. She took an Uber to the Ticket and Transportation Center and unloaded her child, who was in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, her Uber driver noticed her behavior and flagged down an off-duty police officer who was working at the TTC.

The officer said that the Uber driver was concerned for the woman’s safety because of how drunk she was. The Uber driver gave the police her description, and she was quickly found. The officer approached Ms. Shimmary and her toddler and said that he could immediately smell the alcohol on her. He even said that the smell got worse each time she spoke.
The police report states that the woman was swaying and said that she was trying to take the daughter to “princess’s castle.” The deputy was concerned for the woman’s safety, and the safety of her daughter, so he called over Disney security.

When Disney security arrived and assessed the situation, the guard informed Ms. Shimmary that she was being banned from all Disney property and would have to leave. The officer also noted that he asked Ms. Shimmary for her identification, but she refused to give it to him. They tried to get Ms. Shimmary to order an Uber and head home, but she refused.
Things then took a turn.
Ms. Shimmary allegedly took out her cell phone and began filming the police officers and Disney security.
Since the drunk woman was refusing to leave the property, even after being given multiple opportunities to do so, the police arrested her on charges of “Trespass on Property After Warning,” “Public Intoxication,” and “Resisting an Officer Without Violence.” Ms. Shimmary reportedly tried to press her foot up against a pole and then wrap her foot around the pole as she was being led away.
Sadly, because of the woman’s drunken behavior, her daughter was turned over to the Department of Children and Families, who had to be called in.
Ms. Shimmiary was released on bond hours after her arrest.
