Disney’s Hollywood Studios Faces Growing Crowd Pressure Ahead of Summer 2026

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has become one of the most exciting parks at Walt Disney World, but for a lot of guests, it is also becoming the hardest one to manage.

Years ago, many families treated Hollywood Studios like a secondary park. You could show up later in the morning, ride a few attractions, catch a show, and still feel like you experienced most of what the park had to offer. That version of the park feels completely gone now.

Today, Hollywood Studios is packed with major attractions that guests feel pressured to experience all in one visit. The problem is that thousands of other people are trying to do the exact same thing.

That creates an exhausting cycle from the moment guests walk through the gates.

The Park Creates Constant Pressure

Hollywood Studios has one of the strongest attraction lineups at Walt Disney World. The issue is that almost every major ride pulls huge crowds all day long.

Guests are trying to fit Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania!, and Galaxy’s Edge into one day. Add in Fantasmic!, dining reservations, and stage shows, and suddenly the park feels overwhelming fast.

Unlike EPCOT or Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios does not offer as many slower-paced experiences where guests can naturally take a break.

The entire park feels like it moves quickly.

People are speed-walking to Lightning Lane reservations, checking wait times every few minutes, and adjusting plans throughout the day whenever attractions temporarily close down. Even experienced Disney guests sometimes leave feeling like they could not keep up.

Rope Drop Has Become Intense

One of the biggest changes at Hollywood Studios is how competitive rope drop has become.

Guests now arrive extremely early because they know the biggest rides can reach long waits shortly after the park opens. Families rush toward Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge almost immediately, creating packed pathways before some guests have even had breakfast.

That strategy used to work better when fewer people understood Disney planning culture.

Now, nearly everybody knows the same tricks.

That means guests are waking up earlier, stressing over Lightning Lane selections, and trying to beat crowds that are doing the exact same thing. Instead of starting the day relaxed, many people begin their vacation morning already feeling behind schedule.

It Still Has Some of Disney’s Best Attractions

The stressful environment is not stopping guests from showing up.

Hollywood Studios continues attracting massive crowds because the park delivers some of the strongest rides and themed experiences Disney has ever built. Rise of the Resistance remains one of the biggest draws at Walt Disney World, and Galaxy’s Edge still feels impressive years after opening.

The issue is not quality.

The issue is demand.

Too many guests are trying to experience the same attractions at the same time inside a park that can feel crowded very quickly. As Disney continues adding new entertainment and experiences to Hollywood Studios, the pressure may only continue growing.

For many fans, the park is still worth visiting. They just may need to prepare for a far more exhausting day than they expect.
