Disneyland Is SHUTTING DOWN These 3 Attractions This April

Planning a Disneyland trip this spring? If so, there are a few important changes you should know about. Starting April 28, three Disneyland attractions will temporarily close for refurbishment: Matterhorn Bobsleds, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Sorcerer’s Workshop.

These closures come as Disneyland prepares for its upcoming 70th Anniversary celebration, which officially begins on May 16, 2025. While Disney hasn’t announced reopening dates yet, we know the closures will last into May and possibly longer.

The Matterhorn Bobsleds is no stranger to refurbishments. As one of the park’s earliest thrill rides, it frequently undergoes maintenance to keep the experience smooth and safe. While Disney hasn’t said exactly what’s being worked on, guests can expect improvements to the track and effects.

The Enchanted Tiki Room, a beloved classic from Disneyland’s early days, will also be closed. This tropical attraction—famous for its singing birds and catchy music—is expected to be refreshed, though the show’s nostalgic charm will almost certainly remain intact.

Finally, over at Disney California Adventure, the Sorcerer’s Workshop will also be unavailable starting April 28. This interactive space gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at animation, making it a favorite among fans who enjoy exploring the creative process.

Disney is using this time to give a variety of attractions some TLC in time for the 70th celebration. Other attractions getting updates include “it’s a small world”, which will soon feature Coco characters Miguel and Dante, and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, which is adding a second rotating show called Walt Disney – A Magical Life. That show will debut a first-of-its-kind Walt Disney animatronic.

Even Toy Story Mania is getting in on the fun, with special 70th-anniversary targets being added to the ride. In addition to ride changes, the anniversary celebration will bring returning parades, new character outfits, themed food and merchandise, and ticket discounts for select dates.

If you’re planning to visit Disneyland soon, be sure to check the park calendar ahead of time to avoid surprises. Disney frequently updates refurbishment info, and more changes could be on the way as the celebration nears.

So while it might be disappointing to miss a favorite ride, just remember—it’s all in preparation for an even more magical experience when the park’s big birthday begins.
