Disneyland Trams Are Returning THIS MONTH!

When Disneyland reopened after being closed for 412 days, there were many things that were different. Attendance was severely limited, social distancing and mask-wearing were strictly enforced, and there were no parades or shows. Another big change was the fact that there were no trams to take Guests to and from the Mickey & Friends and Pixar parking structures to the Park entrances. Guests had no choice but to walk almost a mile from the parking lots to the Parks.

However, that is about to change! Disney has finally announced that trams will be returning to Disneyland Resort on February 23 — just a few weeks away! Disney brought in the head mouse himself to share the exciting news on social media.

Back in October 2021, Disney shared that the trams would be returning to Disneyland Resort — but only said sometime in early 2022. No specific date was given. Then in January 2022, Guests visiting the Happiest Place on Earth noticed that part of the tram area was blocked off, so testing could be done. That led to speculation that trams would be returning in just a matter of weeks.

Trams have returned to Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World, but no other Disney World theme park at this time. Disney has said that the trams will be returning to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT throughout the year. However, like Disneyland, no return dates have been given at this time.

The lack of tram transportation has upset many Guests, who feel that the trams never should have been taken away. Busses at both Disneyland and Disney World have been packed to the brim with Guests, so Guests are unsure as to why Disney has kept trams away from them. While walking to the Parks in the morning may not be tough for many, the same cannot be said when returning to your car after a long day of walking miles.

The return of Disneyland’s beloved trams will come just in time for Disneyland Resort’s Food and Wine Festival. The popular annual festival takes place at Disney California Adventure Park. This year’s Food and Wine Festival will begin on March 4 and run through April 26.
