“Demonic” Disney World Criticized After Surviving Hurricane Milton

Most Disney Parks fans were happy to hear that Walt Disney World Resort suffered only minor damage from Hurricane Milton. However, one corner of the internet claimed that the theme park they called “woke” and “demonic” deserved worse than it got.

Hurricane Milton made landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast on October 9 as a Category 3 storm, weakening as it approached Central Florida. National Hurricane Center meteorologists and government officials, including President Joe Biden, warned of the potential for historic destruction and loss of life.

Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs closed early on Wednesday, October 9. Disney cast members evacuated individuals from vulnerable lodgings, such as Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, and relocated them to sturdier Disney Resort hotels. Precautionary measures extended to securing the Disney parks, where cast members tied down temporary structures and placed sandbags near doorways to minimize potential damage.

Despite being a massive storm, initial assessments suggested that the preparations effectively reduced the potential for damage at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Minimal Damage Assessment

Once Hurricane Milton had subsided, the scale of damage was evaluated. While reports indicated that the Walt Disney World Resort largely remained intact, some areas did experience minor cosmetic damage.

Notably, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort reported damage to its roofing, necessitating repairs. Crews were dispatched immediately to address leaks in select rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. In general, debris was scattered throughout the property, but an overall assessment indicated that the Central Florida Disney resort had survived with relative ease compared to other facilities.

Social Media Reactions

Claims of “Demonic” Status

Ahead of the hurricane, a dark corner of social media buzzed with hopes that the storm would wreak havoc on the Disney theme parks. On TikTok, users expressed bizarre sentiments, claiming that the Disney Resort should’ve been destroyed due to its “demonic” nature.

“It’s needed to be washed away since its inception,” one commenter wrote.

Critiques of Disney’s Political Views

The discussions surrounding Hurricane Milton’s impact on Walt Disney World Resort also delved into the political views of The Walt Disney Company. Critics, including some social media users, reproached the inclusive organization, suggesting that its policies and social stances contradict traditional values.

This sentiment led some individuals to welcome the idea of a catastrophe hitting “The Most Magical Place on Earth” as a form of cosmic justice or retribution.

Viral TikTok Controversy

An October 8 TikTok video posted by @jaybaskinforreal claiming that Walt Disney World Resort would be destroyed garnered significant attention. The video featured an AI-generated image of a ruined Cinderella Castle, captioned with “R.I.P. Disney World.”

Comments flooded in, spreading false conspiracy theories about children abducted at Walt Disney World Resort to justify the narrative that the theme park is “demonic.”

“This is God’s Vengence for the hurt children,” someone alleged.

“It’s going down,” another user claimed. “Once truth comes out, repulsive. Bankrupt.”

“This is about the only place I pray God doesn’t spare,” one commenter concluded.

Again, there’s no evidence of missing children at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort. The Central Florida Disney parks and Resort hotels suffered minimal damage from Hurricane Milton.
