Disney World Hours Extended Next Month

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World Vacation in October, you will be excited to discover that you’ll be able to squeeze more precious park time into each day. This is because Disney World has increased its hours for October. This is a frightfully fabulous treat for the spookiest time of year, but not an unexpected one.

Disney usually sets preliminary hours and adjusts based on crowd levels in the Parks and hotel occupancy. In recent years, October is a busy month. Long gone are the days when the month was regarded as the “slowest month of the year.” Word got out about this not so well kept secret, and people began flocking to the Park in October. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has added incentive to visit during October, which keeps the crowd level steady.

This news may not be as good for night owls as it is for early risers, but with the Halloween Party forcing early closures at a Magic Kingdom, extra time in the mornings makes more sense at least for that Park. The other Parks benefit from earlier hours too. You’ll find the lowest crowds of the whole day in the first hour. Most parks have seen an extra half hour added in the morning. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios will both open at 8:30 am instead of 9:00 pm. Animal Kingdom will open at 8:00 am instead of 8:30 am. Magic Kingdom will open at 8:00 am on October 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, and 28, and close at 6:00 pm for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party nights. Magic Kingdom will open at 9:00 am as previously scheduled but will now stay open until 11:00 pm.

About Jill Bivins

Jill Bivins has been visiting Disney Parks since she was 2 years old and loves sharing her Disney adventures with the world. She likes to say Disney is in her blood and writing is in her bones — so any time she has the opportunity to combine these loves she is one happy camper! She has a deep abiding love for Epcot and as a die hard Star Wars fan has a serious love for Hollywood Studios as well. When she isn't exploring or writing about Disney Parks, Jill is homeschooling her 7 year old son or pretending to be a farmer on her family homestead (despite being unable to keep even a cactus alive).
