Walt Disney World, a place where dreams come true and imaginations run wild, attracts millions of Guests from around the globe each year. Amid the enchantment and joy, an unfortunate reality has emerged in recent times the rise of stroller thefts within the magical realm. Disney World is cracking down on the measures being taken to protect families and ensure that the magic remains untainted.
Walt Disney World is home to four theme parks Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests can also beat the Florida heat with Disney’s water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Guests looking for another location to explore and experience the wonders of Disney should head to Disney Springs.
In recent years, Disney World has witnessed a concerning uptick in stroller theft incidents. Opportunistic thieves view strollers as easy targets, especially in crowded areas where vigilance is reduced, such as queues for popular rides or crowded attractions. The theft of a stroller can swiftly disrupt a family’s vacation, leaving them feeling violated and vulnerable in “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”
While Disney World has invested significantly in preventing stroller theft, Disney World Guests also play a crucial role in safeguarding their belongings. Guests should not leave personal belongings such as diaper bags, popcorn buckets, wallets, and much more.
Guests should place strollers in the stroller parking zones. Disney World has designated stroller parking areas have been introduced throughout the Park to provide a safe place for Guests to leave their strollers temporarily. These zones are closely monitored and patrolled to deter potential thieves. Some Guests have even brought bike locks to lock a stroller in place, which is a Disney “do-not” since Cast Members move strollers from time to time.
In a viral TikTok, a former Cast Member speaks out about thieves in Disney World. He warns Guests these thieves live at the Park and find strollers as easy targets. The thieves are cute and cuddly squirrels. When Guests leave food or other belongings, squirrels have been known to jump on the stroller and open diaper bags, and coolers if they do not lock.

While these thieves may not steal the most exciting items off your stroller, this is a good reminder for Guests not to leave items they do not want to walk off.
