Dessert lovers rejoice! Walt Disney World has PLENTY of options to satisfy your sweet tooth. From ice cream sundaes to buffet dessert lines and confectionary counters, there are hundreds (maybe even more) of dessert choices on Disney property. A break from the Park to conquer a dessert-like The Kitchen Sink from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street, U.S.A. is fun and tasty.

But sometimes you need to snag a dessert on the go as you continue hitting attractions, shops, and activities around the Walt Disney World Resort. This article recommends desserts that will hit the spot, without taking too much time out of your vacay day.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, Disney Marketplace

Desserts at Walt Disney World Resort are not limited to the theme parks, in fact, some of our favorite Disney desserts are found at Disney Resorts and Disney Springs. The expansion of Disney Springs added so many delicious dining options to our lists. However, this classic remains a tried-and-true favorite.

Many know Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and ChocolateShop in Disney Springs’ Marketplace as an ice cream spot. No argument here, as we are huge fans of Ghirardelli’s ice cream offerings (I’m looking at you Crissy Field Cookie Bits Sundae) but the classic chocolate chip cookie is our favorite on-the-go dessert from this shop.

The richness of the cookie, baked to perfection hits a middle ground between crumbly and chewy and the rich Ghirardelli chocolate chunks married with the buttery cookie body is pure heaven. I even prefer a Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookie over the Original Chocolate Chip Cookie from Gideon’s Bakehouse. This large cookie is a great deal at only $3.95 and wraps up easily for dessert on the go as you search out the best deals at Disney Springs!

Salted Carmel Bubble Waffle

AristoCrĂŞpes, Disney Marketplace

Situated in a stand near World of Disney at Disney Marketplace you will find AristoCrêpes, home to delectable crepes and steaming bubble waffles. While there is no bad choice at this eatery, and all menu offerings are easy to order and portable, we do have a recommendation.

Do not skip the Salted Caramel Bubble Waffle. The fun fluffy texture of a bubble waffle always makes for a fun snack but topped with the rich buttery goodness of this creation you will think you have died and gone to heaven.

A bubble waffle packed with chocolate ice cream and fresh whipped cream lays the foundation for this dessert. Crunchy pretzel pieces, crispy edible pearl toppings, and of course golden ribbons of gooey caramel sauce top off this confection. Do not forget to snag some napkins when you purchase this dessert, although it’s so good you’ll probably still lick your fingers clean.

Croque Glacé

L’Artisan des Glaces, France Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase

Sweet and salty, smooth and crunchy, warm and cold: nothing beats a good juxtaposition in the dessert department. This next recommendation hits the mark in portability, uniqueness, and deliciousness. Cue L’Artisan des Glaces– Croque GlacĂ©! I’ll admit this is a newfound favorite that I learned about on TikTok (Thanks @bethanyvinton!).

Located in a gelato shop L’Artisan des Glaces in EPCOT’s France Pavilion I consistently passed up this yummy eat assuming only scooped gelato was on the menu in this eatery. I was VERY wrong.

Do not pass on tasting a Croque GlacĂ© on your next EPCOT visit. This very portable and delicious confection consists of one scoop of gelato (chocolate is a classic choice) with your choice of dessert sauce (chocolate, caramel, etc.) pressed into a warm brioche bun. Yep, it’s EXACTLY as good as it sounds. This sweet and warm melty creation marries sweet and savory, warm and cold to create one showstopper of a dessert.

Caramel Shortbread

Karamell-KĂĽche, German Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase

If you are looking to sample some of the delicious golden caramel produced in Karamell-Küche when browsing World Showcase, we have a recommendation that will be the perfect dessert on the go. While we love caramel chocolate apples, caramel pecan nut clusters, and sea salt dark chocolate caramels we recommend you purchase the caramel shortbread. This crumbly buttery cookie square would be delicious alone but the ripples of fresh caramel that swim through the cookie make this eat not to be missed.

Do not let the size fool you, the richness of this treat makes a little, go a long way so this is a shareable dessert. Caramel Shortbread pairs well with German Beer, we suggest Beck’s Pilsner, sold right outside Karamell-KĂĽche at Sommerfest. Pro tip- send a friend to buy the beer while you purchase the caramel shortbread and meet back up at the fountain outside. Snag some napkins to keep those buttery fingers clean and pack up your shortbread to nibble as you stroll World Showcase.

Stands and Quick Service Eateries across Walt Disney World Property

The dessert on the go discussion just can’t wrap up without mentioning a simple classic, the Mickey Premium Bar. The iconic treat is a marker of Walt Disney World, now prevalent on merchandise and social media – it’s also just plain delicious.

This vanilla ice cream and chocolate shell treat is a simple favorite loved by little ones and Disney adults alike. Honestly- isn’t everything better when it’s Mickey-shaped?! I love snagging a Mickey Premium Bar while hanging out near Mouse Gear on a bench in EPCOT or under the PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland

Ice cream is such a classic Theme Park treat and makes the perfect addition to a Florida day in Walt Disney World parks. From Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Animal Kingdom to Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom you will find Mickey Premium Bars for sale. For Guests that get a Mickey Premium Bar craving outside the parks, most quick-service eateries at Disney Resorts and ice cream cases at resort shops now carry this classic dessert for guests to enjoy!

About Katie Chapman

Hey There! I am a Georgia native with a passion for writing, traveling, cooking, decorating, pugs and of course all things Disney. Growing up in South Georgia just a few hours from Walt Disney World made for a magical childhood. Some of my best memories were made on Main Street U.S.A. with my sister watching SpectroMagic nighttime parade or beside my grandparents, parents and extended family at Chef Mickey’s celebrating on a family vacation. Epcot was my favorite park from a young age and I credit it with my interest in and love for international travel. As a kid I loved meeting characters and watching films around World Showcase and could spend hours exploring each of the countries in Epcot. These days, my husband and I get away to explore a new country whenever we can and even incorporate trips to The Disney Store and Disney Parks around the world in our travels. One of our travel goals is to visit every Disney Park in the world. I love writing about Disney restaurants, park tips, Disney outfit inspiration and Disney history. Pocahontas is my favorite Disney Princess (90s kid here!) but Mr. Toad is my spirit animal. When I’m not at Disney I’m reading about park history, watching Disney documentaries and shopping vintage Disney merch for park outfits. I never pass up a reservation to Ohana, an empty seat on Living with the Land or a Violet Sake.
