It’s shaping up to be another chilly weekend in the Sunshine State, and with it comes more closures at Walt Disney World Resort.
Disney has confirmed that Blizzard Beach Water Park will shut down this weekend, with no hours listed on its official site for Saturday, December 21, and Sunday, December 22. While the exact reason hasn’t been announced, the closure seems to coincide with another cold front sweeping through Central Florida.
Click Orlando reports that “rain chances will drop to around 20-30% on Thursday, and then mostly dry conditions for most areas through the weekend. When it comes to the temperatures, they will cool slightly on Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low to mid-70s and then dipping into the 60s on Saturday.”
The outlet adds that “overnight lows by the weekend will dip into the low 40s. For early Saturday and Sunday mornings, wind chills could drop into the upper 30s to low 40s inland, especially west of I-95.”
Blizzard Beach is expected to reopen on Monday, December 23, with hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Disney World routinely closes its water parks during cold weather or severe conditions, as seen earlier this month when Blizzard Beach shut down for multiple straight days. With Typhoon Lagoon indefinitely closed, Blizzard Beach is the only water park operating at the resort.
Elsewhere in Walt Disney World, more closures loom on the horizon. Magic Kingdom’s Hall of Presidents will close in January 2025, seemingly to update the attraction for President-Elect Donald Trump’s term. This follows a long-standing tradition of incorporating sitting Presidents into the patriotic experience.
The Hall of Presidents joins a growing list of early 2025 refurbishments, including Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom. While these necessary updates are part of Disney’s commitment to keeping its parks in top shape, some Guests are expressing frustration, particularly as ticket prices continue to climb.
For those planning a vacation next year, these closures could impact the overall experience, but they’re an unavoidable part of theme park operations. Weather, refurbishments, and updates to attractions are all necessary to maintain the magic for years to come.

This is the worst form of reporting I have ever seen-do you have a specific reason to continuously trash Disney with slanted & misinformation or are you really this sick
