Fandom’s of all shapes, flavors, and universes will soon converge which can only mean one thing: San Diego Comic Con is upon us! That’s right, it’s time to don your best cosplay and head to San Diego! This year’s convention will be held Wednesday July 20, 2022-Sunday July 24, 2022. It’s hard to imagine a time when this cultural dynamo wasn’t at the very heartbeat of pop culture, but the first Comic Con hosted just 100 people in 1970. Today it’s a powerhouse of sci-fi, comics, movies and pop culture where over a hundred thousand people will clamor for a glimpse of their favorite actors and artists. As in years past, Disney will have a strong presence at this year’s convention with 18 separate panels.
All weekend long Disney fans (and fans if it’s various subsidiaries) will have an opportunity to meet with and here from the minds behind their favorite movies and shows. From the Simpsons to Marvel, there’s something here for everyone! In fact, the schedule is so packed with amazing panels it could be a convention all by itself! This impressive lineup spans much of Disney’s most lucrative acquisitions and Disney originals. Notably absent though, is Lucasfilm and any representation from the Star Wars franchise.
In addition to the panels by the creators there will also be hands on events and how-to workshops, including a look at Stan Lee, how to introduce modern readers to classic comics, and Marvel games.
Are you excited about these fantastic panels? We expect a lot of great new information about some of our favorite shows and movies will be announced and we will keep you updated.
