This is probably not as he wished. Cary Elwes, star of a number of iconic films likeĀ The Princess BrideĀ andĀ Robin Hood: Men In Tights was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center after being injured at his Los Angeles home. According to reports, Elwes was doing yard work when a rattlesnake appeared and bit him on the hand. Emergency services were called, and it was decided that he needed to be airlifted to the hospital.

Elwes later shared a picture of the nasty bite on Twitter, but assured his followers that he was okay.

Bit not by a ROUS but a rattlesnake. Grateful to the staff of Malibu Urgent Care, LA County Fire Dept. and the staff and medical professionals at @UCLAHealth for their great care. Am recovering well thanks to all these wonderful folks.

Rattlesnakes are venomous, and their bites are considered a medical emergency. While they are rarely fatal if treated, they can make the person feel lightheaded, nauseous, and weak. They can also have blurred vision and difficulty breathing. If you are bitten by a rattlesnake, medical professionals say to contact emergency services, keep as still as possible, and do not raise the affected area above your heart (if possible).
