Disney World Theme Park “Broken,” Overtaken By Crowds

Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is a sprawling resort that offers guests various magical experiences across its four theme parks and various resort hotels. With something for everyone, it’s no wonder that Disney World is one of the most visited vacation destinations in the world.

Guests head to Disney World to make memories that will last a lifetime. Disney tends to see more guests during the holiday season due to special meet and greets, school being out, and special decorations around Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT.

Recently, guests heading to Disney Parks hoping to purchase Genie+ have been turned away as the controversial service has been sold out of certain parks and the multi-park option.

Even after the holidays have basically come to an end, Disney’s Hollywood Studios still is seeing an influx of many guests in the parks. With Genie+, prices are higher than normal, and the number of guests brings longer wait times. Navigating the Disney Parks during busy times requires careful planning.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is seeing longer than normal wait times, such as 200+ minutes for certain attractions. Hollywood Studios is home to popular attractions such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and shows like Fantasmic! that bring guests to this park.

Guests looking to purchase Disney Genie+ should purchase as early as possible and head to Disney’s official website for details on how to use Disney Genie+.

Guests that have Disney Genie+ will be able to go through the Lightning Lane which is faster than the stand-by line. Lighting Lane allows guests to have a select time to join that attraction and lowers the wait time for the guests in the Lighting Lane.

While these high wait times seem strange since the holiday season is over, Disney World is still a popular tourist location and sees thousands of guests daily. Guests planning a trip to Disney in 2024 can prepare for longer than normal wait times due to larger crowds.

Because of the fact that Disney’s Hollywood Studios only has nine rides– with one expected to close in just a matter of days for refurbishment– many guests have said the park “is broken.” The theme park has a different “feel” and “vibe” than it did many years ago, especially since Galaxy’s Edge was constructed.

While Disney is working to fix some of the crowding issues with the announcement of a transformed Little Mermaid show that will open this fall, we have not heard of any plans on the immediate horizon.

Would you skip Disney’s Hollywood Studios park due to the long wait times? If so, what Disney Park would you visit instead?
