The Walt Disney Company messed up a new piece of merchandise in a major way.

We get it; Disney has a lot on their hands. Right now, the Parks are in a massive transformational period. Tons of new movies, new attractions, and new leadership is happening at the Parks. While all this change is exciting, it also means that Disney is more likely to slip up when it comes to the small stuff. Disney fans don’t miss anything, and they noticed right away that Disney overlooked a major Disney merchandise mistake related to a fan holiday.

“Star Wars” Fans Left Disappointed

If there is one fanbase you do not want to piss off, it is Star Wars fans. The dedication and passion that the fanbase has are truly unlike any other. While most of the time this is a beautiful and powerful thing, when you anger a Star Wars fan, things can get ugly. This latest merchandise error by Disney has left more than a couple of Star Wars fans feeling annoyed.

An important holiday is coming up for Star Wars fans on May 4. Every year on this date, fans celebrate “Star Wars Day.” The date was chosen because “May the fourth” sounds similar to the Star Wars catchphrase, “May the force.” This day is an opportunity for fans to celebrate the franchise and the magic of the community. Many fans choose to head to Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort to celebrate.

To prepare for the holiday, ShopDisney is selling a new line of “May the Fourth Be With You” Star Wars merchandise online before it releases in the Parks on Star Wars Day. One of the featured items in the collection is a Limited Edition “May The 4th Be With You” MagicBand+. The MagicBand+ comes with some Star Wars characters on it, along with the words “Star Wars Day, may the Fourth Be With You 2023.”

“May the 8th Be With You?”

It seems like a great Magic Band to wear to the Parks on Star Wars Day, right? Unfortunately, fans will not be able to do so because Disney has made the item unavailable until May 8, 2023. Fans were quick to point out the mistake and laugh at its irony.
