There are so many amazing parts of a Disney vacation — staying in a fun hotel, dining on delicious food, riding exciting attractions, and enjoying nighttime fireworks, parades, and more. However, one of the most memorable parts of a Disney vacation might not be a ride or a meal but meeting one of your favorite Disney characters.

Over its century-long existence, Disney has created some truly memorable characters. Of course, there’s Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip, and Dale. But there are also a ton of princesses like Cinderella, Tiana, and Belle; villains like Ursula, Maleficent, the Evil Queen, and Jafar; and a ton of great movie characters like Stitch, Captain Hook, Woody, Alice, and so many more.

While everyone has their favorite characters, some of the most popular character meet-and-greets are for characters from Pixar’s iconic Toy Story franchise. Guests can typically meet characters like Sheriff Woody, Bo Peep, and Buzz Lightyear. Sometimes, there are even rare characters, like Lotso Bear.

Over the years, Disney characters have undergone many changes and upgrades. Disney wants its characters to look as realistic as possible, and it wants guests to truly believe that they are a part of the Disney magic. However, not every change is a good one, and sometimes, Disney misses the mark.

A child dressed as Donald Duck in safari gear hugs two smiling children at a restaurant table. The table is set with plates, glasses, and waffles shaped like Mickey Mouse. The restaurant has a warm, rustic interior with wooden furniture and animal-themed decor.

Recently, X (formerly Twitter) user @DisneyTipsGuy visited one of Disney’s amazing theme parks and noticed that one of its characters looked a little off. Buzz Lightyear and his accompanying cast member were making their way out to greet guests. Unfortunately, Buzz Lightyear appeared to be having some trouble moving.

Good morning Space Rangers!

Has anyone else noticed the change to this different Buzz costume? This poor CM was really struggling to walk in it!

Have a great Tuesday friends!

As you can see, the new Buzz Lightyear costume doesn’t seem very conducive to fluid movement, making the Space Ranger walk in a stiff and jilted manner.

Guests were disappointed to see that Disney had designed a new costume that clearly didn’t move well, and replaced the old Buzz Lightyear costume, even though it worked well.

Honestly I’ll never get why the body of the new costume was made so bulky. With the old costume everything from the neck down was perfect, but now it’s the exact opposite

Others pointed out that, while the character’s face looked just like the Buzz Lightyear from the movies, the arms looked really short, and the proportions were off.

The face is more “on model”… it’s the tiny arms that are throwing me off.

However, some commenters felt that it wasn’t actually an issue with the costume, but a problem with the cast member wearing it. They said that a taller person needed to be in the costume, and the issue lay with the person who did the scheduling.

That CM is too short to play Buzz. There needs to be more of a gap between thigh piece and codpiece so they can properly walk. That’s scheduling fault right there

Issues with the new character costumes are just one of the recent complaints that guests have had about their Disney Parks experience. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, guests have accused Disney of cutting costs while simultaneously raising prices. They say that the food and merchandise quality have both gone downhill.

There is also the problem with ride breakdowns. Guests are paying more than ever to enjoy the parks, and many are paying extra for the Lightning Lane MultiPass so they can skip some long lines. However, it seems that many rides frequently break down, and they aren’t getting to ride the attractions they actually want.

What do you think of this new Buzz Lightyear costume? Let us know in the comments!
