Rare ‘Toy Story’ Character Finally Getting Disney Park Meet and Greet!
One of the great things about visiting a Disney theme park is seeing some of your favorite Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters.
How much fun is it riding some amazing attractions, eating delicious food, and then talking with some of your favorite Disney princesses? Or how about spending some time with Stitch, Buzz Lightyear, or even Darth Vader? It’s a truly magical experience, and meeting the characters can be one of the most memorable parts of your Disney vacation.
Some Disney theme parks have character meet-and-greets that you just can’t get anywhere else. And Shanghai Disneyland is about to get one of the rarest character meet-and-greets that we have ever seen!
Much like Walt Disney World Resort, Shanghai Disneyland has its own version of Toy Story Land. However, unlike Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Shanghai Disney’s Toy Story Land has Al’s Toy Barn. Just outside Al’s Toy Barn, guests will soon be able to meet Rex, the anxious Tyrannosaurus Rex who belonged to Andy in Toy Story (1995)!

Guests can also ride some unique attractions like Rex’s Racers, Slinky Dog Spin, and Woody’s Round-Up, which is very similar to Alien Swirling Saucers in Disney World and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disney California Adventure. As for dining, guests can enjoy different boxes at Toy Box Café, including The Box of Buzz Lightyear, The Box of Lotso, and the Box of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.
Shanghai Disney recently released an adorable video to announce the new meet-and-greet coming to the park.

As you can see, Rex’s anxiety is on full display, but he will definitely be excited to greet guests beginning June 16!
This is not the only new character meet and greet that guests can experience at Shanghai Disney. Castle Encounters opened earlier this year, allowing guests to meet some classic Disney princesses. Castle Encounters was added to the park’s Enchanted Storybook Castle, and guests can meet princesses like Snow White, Belle, Tiana, and Cinderella.
Guests can also head over to Tribal Table in Adventure Isle, which has been transformed into a LinaBell-inspired area where guests can hang out with Duffy and friends. If that area is busy, they can head to the Whistle Stop Shop, where they can meet Duffy Bear, ShellieMay the Bear, StellaLou the Rabbit, CookieAnn the dog, and LinaBell the fox.
There is currently no end date for the Rex meet and greet in Toy Story Land. Disney Dining will update readers if and when we learn of an end date. Of course, if Rex is really popular, who knows how long he’ll be there!
