For many Disney adults, one of their biggest dreams is to take a magical Disney vacation with their significant other. While at one of Disney’s incredible theme parks, the love of their life gets down on one knee and proposes. It is a dream that is actually a regular occurrence at many of the theme parks. Disney World even offers a Capture Your Moment photography experience, so guests can have professional photographs to remember their moments.
Sadly, one guest recently had Disney dash their hopes of proposing to their significant other during their Disney trip.
Redditor u/TheV_game posted on the platform that he had reached out to Shanghai Disneyland to see if they could get a PhotoPass photographer to capture their proposal. They appeared to expect a response somewhere along the lines of what it would entail, much like Disney World’s Capture Your Moment.
The OP (original poster) was shocked when Shanghai Disneyland responded and said that proposals were NOT allowed inside the theme parks. The email response read:
Dear Guest,
Greetings from Shanghai Disney Resort Reservation Center!
We wish you good luck but please kindly note that propsal is not permitted in Shanghai Disneyland.
Have a magical day!

Some questioned if maybe the Redditor had asked for Shanghai Disney to help them plan their proposal. However, they confirmed that they only asked if they could possibly have a photographer take pictures of the proposal. They did not need any help in planning the Disney Park proposal.
Many thought that it may have simply been a miscommunication and the coordinator at the Reservation Center did not understand. They were shocked that one Disney Resort would push photography bookings for proposals, while another would not allow theme park proposals at all.
A lot of other commenters suggested that the guest simply find a PhotoPass photographer when they get to the park. Then, as they were getting their photos taken, the Redditor could propose.
It should be noted that Shanghai Disney, while they may not allow proposals inside the parks, couples are more than welcome to get married there. Shanghai Disney offers gorgeous wedding locations, like the Cinderella Ballroom, where guests can say “I do.” Guests can also celebrate their reception and even book photography packages for the unforgettable Disney experience.
