Walt Disney World is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” Disney is a popular tourist location seeing thousands of Guests daily, and is home to four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each Disney World Park includes something for Guests of all ages to experience. Disney World is where Guests will make memories that will last a lifetime.

Some Guests, when they pass away, want to be scattered around “The Most Magical Place on Earth.,” especially at the Haunted Mansion. While it may be tempting for some, this is definitely a Disney “don’t.” Disney Cast Members want to avoid vacuuming up your loved ones, but this will happen if you try and leave them around Disney World. While it is understandable that some Guests may have a deep emotional connection to Disney World and may wish to pay tribute to their departed loved ones, it is important to remember that theme parks are public spaces designed for the enjoyment and safety of all Disney World Guests. The presence of human remains disrupts the intended atmosphere and poses potential health risks to both Guests and Cast Members. Additionally, it can require a specialized and thorough cleanup process to ensure the safety of everyone within the Park.

In a viral TikTok, a former Cast Member talks about why Disney Guests should not throw loved ones out on any attraction. One family was riding Haunted Mansion when a Cast Member heard screaming coming from the ballroom scene this section includes a glass wall that Guests cannot see from the attraction, and so when tossing their loved ones, the ashes hit the mirror and landed on the Guests in the buggy next to them on their faces. Disney Cast Members had to come in with hazmat suits to clean up the remains.
