Disney Guest Reportedly Harassed by Cast Member Who “Aggressively Smelled Like Alcohol”

Please note that the story outlined in this article is based on a personal Disney parks guest experience. No two guest experiences are alike, and this article does not necessarily align with Disney Dining’s personal views on Disney park operations.

Disney cast members are the heart and soul of the magical world of Disney. These individuals play a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for guests visiting Disney parks and resorts. From the moment guests enter the park, cast members work tirelessly to ensure that every detail is perfect and every interaction is memorable.

Their dedication to storytelling and creating moments of joy sets Disney cast members apart from employees at any other theme park.

However, even with Disney’s high standards, there can be occasional slips in the quality of cast members. A guest at Magic Kingdom Park reported a troubling encounter with a cast member who allegedly appeared intoxicated. The incident, which occurred during a chaotic evening exit, has raised concerns about this employee’s conduct.

Disney Guest Reports Bizarre Encounter with Allegedly Drunk Cast Member at Magic Kingdom

According to the guest’s account, which was shared on Reddit, the interaction began as they were struggling to navigate through the crowded park. After waiting on the side to avoid the throngs of people, the guest approached a cast member to inquire about the nearest guest relations service.

The alleged situation took an unexpected turn when a man, described as smelling heavily of alcohol, approached aggressively. The guest recounted:

“As I was talking to her, a man suddenly came up to me and aggressively smelling like alcohol and accused me of trying to sneak in?! Said you need to scan your pass again. I said first of all I don’t want to go back in, and secondly you sir smell heavily like alcohol.”

According to the report, the cast member did not deny the accusation or the smell of alcohol, and instead, yelled loudly, “THEY’RE GOING TO GUEST RELATIONS!!” and chased the guest to the guest relations office.

Bizarre Guest Experience Raises Speculation

Upon reaching out to guest relations, the guest raised the issue of the cast member’s alleged intoxication. The response from Disney staff was reportedly “completely undisturbed and unphased.” The guest said they were met with a standard apology for a disappointing day but felt their concerns about the cast member’s behavior were not adequately addressed. The guest expressed their frustration, stating:

“They seemed completely undisturbed and unphazed. I then made a comment through chat about it. Again they completely breezed through and barely acknowledged it. Only saying sorry you had a disappointing day. It’s not so much a disappointing day. Wouldn’t you think someone who smelt drunk shouldn’t be around children or guests?!”

In response to this report, Walt Disney World Resort has not issued a specific statement about the incident. Overall, this situation seems very out of line with Disney’s typical standards.

Overall, Disney cast members are not just employees; they are storytellers, performers, and creators of magic. Their unwavering dedication to upholding the Disney legacy and creating enchanting experiences for guests is what sets Disney apart as a world-renowned entertainment destination. While this instance was unfortunate, it does not speak for the company’s reputation as a whole.
