Every year, Disney fans across the country wait with great anticipation for the holidays to roll around, so they can watch Disney’s annual Christmas Day celebration that takes place at both Disneyland and Disney World. Numerous celebrities and Disney characters join together to celebrate the season with fun Christmas songs, festive outfits, and more. What’s even more exciting is that Guests visiting the theme parks can join in on the fun!

While the Christmas special always airs on Christmas Day, it films weeks in advance. Filming takes place around Walt Disney World and also at Disneyland Park in California. While Disney doesn’t give Guests advance notice as to when they will be filming, there are signs put up the days that filming will take place. The signs also tell Guests that if they do not want to be on camera, then they need to stay clear of the areas where filming will be happening.

Last week, celebrities were seen at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, and now it looks like filming is ready to begin at the Happiest Place on Earth. Instagrammer Gothic Rosie shared a picture of a stage that was set up in front of “it’s a small world” Holiday in Fantasyland — which is currently closed due to flooding — as well as another sign found in the park.

Disney has given almost no details on when the filming will happen, who will be there, or what areas of the Park will be limited due to the taping. However, it is important to note that the Park will be closing early on November 16 — at 7 p.m. — for the Merriest Nites Christmas party that will be taking place.

It is also important to note that if you are planning on visiting Disneyland Park over the next few days, you may continue to see these signs as the taping for the Christmas special does not happen all in one day.
