Disney Spurs Sir Elton John On To a Once-In-a-Lifetime Achievement
The Walt Disney Company enjoyed numerous wins at the Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday evening across its various entertainment brands, spurring Sir Elton John on to a once-in-a-lifetime achievement experience.
On Monday evening, the Primetime Emmy Awards were held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles four months after they were originally scheduled. The live event was hosted by former star of black•ish and Disney Legend Anthony Anderson.
An Impressive List of Wins
Over the course of the evening’s events, Disney Entertainment won an impressive 37 Primetime Emmy Awards across its many platforms and studios.
Those entities include ABC, Disney+, Disney Television Studios, which includes 20th Television Animation, 20th Television, and ABC Signature, Disney Branded Television, FX, FX Productions, Hulu, National Geographic, Onyx Collective, and Walt Disney Studios, which includes 20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., and Marvel Studios.
Sir Elton John Reaches a Monumental Achievement
The night brought an especially exciting achievement to Sir Elton John, who had three wins for Disney Branded Television’s Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium. Those wins allowed the famed performer to reach EGOT status, as he became the 19th person to receive an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award.
