Every year, Disney Imagineers and Cast Members work incredibly hard to prepare the theme parks for Halloween and the holiday season. Not only are there decorations all over the Parks — like Jack O’Lanterns and garlands — but several attractions also receive special overlays. At Walt Disney World Resort, the Magic Kingdom’s world-famous Jungle Cruise becomes the Jingle Cruise. And over at Disneyland Resort, the Haunted Mansion closes for weeks in August, so it can be transformed into Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Haunted Mansion Holiday is something that Guests excitedly wait months for. The ride gets a Nightmare Before Christmas twist, showing how Jack Skellington has arrived from Halloweentown to wreck the halls and what happens when two holidays collide. There are festively spooky elements around every corner, and Haunted Mansion Holiday becomes the most popular ride at Disneyland Resort from September through January.
Typically, Haunted Mansion Holiday will close when the holiday season ends and reopens as the traditional attraction several weeks later. However, this year, it looks like Disney is doing something different. According to the Disneyland Resort website, Haunted Mansion Holiday will not close until January 30, 2023. The holiday season at Disneyland ends on January 8, so Disney is giving Guests over three extra weeks to enjoy the attraction!
Haunted Mansion Holiday will be closed for refurbishment beginning January 30, 2023 and will reopen as Haunted Mansion. Please check back for updates.
