Disney Cruise Line Makes Another Update to COVID Policy

Disney Cruise Line is once again sailing the big blue! With COVID 19 pandemic still alive and well, the Cruise industry has had to adjust accordingly. As of most recently the Disney Cruise Line announced that all Guests ages 12 and older are required to be fully vaccinated to sail with the Disney Cruise Line. This news was released despite Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ attempt to prevent businesses from refusing to serve customers who were unable to prove they had the COVID 19 vaccination. On top of that, a conditional sail order with the Bahamas now requires the COVID 19 vaccine for all cruisers visiting the Bahamas – hence Disney’s requirement for all Guests ages 12 and older to be fully vaccinated to sail with the Disney Cruise Line. Now, Disney has updated their COVID 19 policy once again.

Disney’s policy now includes that on top of the vaccination requirement, they are ALSO requiring proof of a negative COVID-19 test for all cruisers. As stated by Disney: “All Guests ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to board the ship. Approved vaccines include those produced by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) considers people to be fully vaccinated 14 days after the final dose has been administered. Guests must provide proof of vaccination by uploading their vaccination card to the Safe Passage by Inspire website no later than 24 hours before their sailing. Guests who choose not to provide proof of vaccination to meet the requirements of The Bahamas will not be permitted to board the ship.” The update states: “Beginning September 13, all Guests, regardless of age and vaccination status, are required to take a COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics at the terminal before boarding.” Tests will be administered at the Port Canaveral terminal.
