Disney has added a new membership tier to its Castaway Club in honor of the Silver Anniversary at Sea, which celebrates 25 years of Disney Cruise Line, and it comes with some amazing perks you won’t find anywhere else outside of Walt Disney World!
Disney launched its first cruise ship experience, the Disney Magic, in 1999, sparking a delightful vacation experience for families and Disney lovers everywhere. With elevated service that’s always a step above, each massive cruise ship includes fun and relaxation for all ages with a wide variety of activities onboard and at exclusive Disney destinations on land, such as character and fine dining experiences, spa and salon appointments, clubs, and adult-only offerings like beverage tasting.
As stated on the Disney Parks Blog, Pearl Membership will recognize repeat Disney Cruise Line Guests’ commitment to sailing with the Company through its Castaway Club, rewarding them with “exclusive at-home and onboard benefits that add an extra layer of magic.” Anyone can join after just one Disney cruise, but a premium tier did exist with added perks. Now, the newly announced “Pearl” tier will “honor the valued relationship we have formed with Guests over the years and is inspired by the time it takes for a pearl to be formed in nature.”
For instance, Disney will provide Pearl members with the ability to book their next voyage up to four days before the general public via an early booking window, which also includes priority activities scheduling for the “ever-expanding” Disney Cruise Line itineraries 123 days before their next cruise’s departure. Pearl members will also find “welcome aboard” gifts in their DCL staterooms, including an exclusive set of pearlescent tumblers to commemorate their membership status.
Moreover, Pearl members, like Platinum Castaway Club members, will now receive unlimited complimentary digital downloads for any portraits taken by Disney Cruise Line ship photographers, along with a complimentary dining experience at Palo on their next voyage. Of course, Palo is an Italian-inspired fine dining experience and one of the DCL’s only adult-exclusive restaurant locations.
However, keep in mind that there are some limitations to this amazing Disney offer: while the Disney Cruise Line promises Pearl Castaway Club members “access to more rewards and perks than ever before,” cruisers need to have attended a minimum of 25 DCL vacations to qualify for membership status. Plus, some rewards, such as the tumblers and the Palo meal, are subject to reservation and item availability, which is subject to change.
Dedicated Disney Cruise Line vacationers can sign up for Pearl Membership in the Castaway Club beginning this summer when the program launches on May 1, 2023. For more information on the DCL and the 25th-anniversary celebration, click here.
