Not long ago, we reported that Disney had acquired a new ship, the Global Dream, which was previously owned by a Hong Kong-based company until the pandemic forced them to close up shop. The ship seemed doomed to languish half built and never realize its true potential. Enter Disney. They bought the ship in November after rumors had swirled about the acquisition for months.
Not sure you want to go all the way to Singapore for a cruise? When completed, the Global Dream, which will have a new Disney-inspired name, will be the world’s largest cruise ship as well as one of its most luxurious. Luxury isn’t all this ship has to offer, though. It will also be a haven for families with more kid-friendly activities at sea than any other ship in the world!

According to today’s announcement, Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board have agreed to collaborate. Singapore will be the homeport of this brand-new Disney cruise ship for at least five years beginning in 2025.
“This is a very exciting year for The Walt Disney Company — 2023 marks our 100th anniversary,” Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro, said. “As part of this, Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations around the world. We are incredibly excited to make Singapore the home port to our seventh-launched ship, which will sail from here year-round starting in 2025.”
