Disney Confirms Han Solo Meet and Greet at Disneyland Park Starting April 29

Disneyland Park is about to deliver something fans have been asking for since the day Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened—and it’s finally happening in a way that feels long overdue.

Starting April 29, guests will be able to meet Han Solo inside Galaxy’s Edge, bringing one of the most iconic characters in the entire franchise directly into the land. And honestly, it’s the kind of addition that immediately makes you wonder why it took this long.

For years, the land has operated within a very specific timeline, mostly centered around the sequel trilogy. That meant characters like Rey, Kylo Ren, and Vi Moradi drove the story, while classic figures like Han, Leia, and Luke were largely absent. It worked from a storytelling perspective, but it always felt like something was missing—especially when you’re standing right in front of the Millennium Falcon.

Now, that changes.

A New Era for the Millennium Falcon Area

With Han Solo arriving, Disney is shifting part of Galaxy’s Edge into the original trilogy timeline. Specifically, the area around the Millennium Falcon will begin to reflect that era, allowing classic characters to appear in a space that already feels built for them.

That means Han won’t just be a one-off meet and greet tucked away somewhere. He’ll be right where he belongs—near the Falcon, interacting with guests in a setting that actually makes sense for his character.

Meanwhile, the Resistance side of the land will still reflect the sequel trilogy, which creates an interesting dynamic. Guests will essentially be able to experience two different eras of Star Wars storytelling depending on where they go.

Fans Are Already Reacting

The announcement didn’t take long to spread, and once it did, the excitement picked up quickly.

Theme park reporter Scott Gustin shared the update on social media, writing:

“NEW: Disney and Star Wars shared a first look at Han Solo at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. You can meet him starting April 29.”

That one post was enough to get fans talking. And it makes sense. This isn’t just another character being added—it’s one of the most recognizable figures in movie history stepping into a space that finally feels complete.

Why This Matters

Han Solo brings something different to a meet and greet.

He’s not just there for photos. He’s a character with personality, attitude, and a reputation for saying whatever comes to mind. That opens the door for more natural, unscripted interactions—something Galaxy’s Edge has always tried to lean into.

It also helps the land feel more alive. Instead of sticking to one timeline, Disney is starting to blend eras in a way that gives guests more variety. That flexibility could lead to even more additions in the future, especially if this rollout goes well.

What to Expect

If you’re visiting around April 29, expect this to be one of the most popular experiences in the park.

Lines will build quickly, especially in the first few days. Characters like Han don’t debut quietly, and once photos start showing up online, demand will only increase.

But more than anything, this is one of those updates that changes how the land feels. It’s not a new ride or a major expansion—but it’s the kind of addition that fills a gap fans have noticed for years.

And once Han Solo is standing in front of the Millennium Falcon, it’s going to feel like he was always meant to be there.
