Disney Channel Star Reveals Devastating Miscarriage
If you are a Disney kid of the 90s, then chances are you feel like you grew up with Cory Matthews, Shawn Hunter, Topanga Lawrence, and Mr. Feeny on the show Boy Meets World. The popular series premiered in 1993 and ran for seven seasons, ending when the trio we fell in love with graduated from college.
While Cory (Ben Savage), Shawn (Rider Strong), and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) were the characters the show revolved around, there were a lot of other friends and family we met along the way. When the group hit college, Shawn’s life changed dramatically. Not only did he meet his half-brother, Jack, but he also met the woman he would fall in love with, Angela Moore.

Angela was played by actress Trina McGee, who has recently opened up about her time on the hit Disney Channel show. Sadly, it seems that it was not as great an experience as she would have hoped for. In 2020, McGee tweeted that she was called racist nicknames by some of her co-stars and made to feel unwelcome on both the set of Boy Meets World and its 2014 reboot, Girl Meets World.
Called aunt Jemima on set during hair and make up. Called a bitter bitch when I quietly waited for my scene to finish rehearsing that was being f’ed up over and over due to episode featuring my character. Told “ it was nice of you to join us” like a stranger after 60 episodes

On June 3, McGee shocked fans when she announced that she was pregnant with her fourth child at the age of 54. It would be her first child with her husband, actor Marcello Thedford. McGee also has three children from her first marriage to actor/writer Courtland Davis.
Sadly, on a recent episode of The Tamron Hall Show, McGee revealed that she lost her pregnancy near the end of the first trimester.
“I did lose the baby. It wasn’t expected; it was closer to the end of the first trimester. We really don’t have any real reasons why. I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and at this time.”
She added that the tragic loss did leave her feeling very depressed.
“A lot of depression after. It was just kind of hard to get out of bed. There are so many things that come when you really want a family and you want your family to be complete. There are so many dreams that you have. It was very hard to face the fact that that’s not going to happen.”

Ms. McGee did admit that she shared the news of her pregnancy relatively early, but she wanted to share her joy and hope with women who think that it is too late for them to become a mother.
“There were so many women who, even at 55 and older, still want to get pregnant or don’t want to be boxed into this ‘geriatric pregnancy’ thing. I don’t know if I’m here to give advice for everybody, because everybody’s body is different, and you should listen to your doctors.”
The Recent Fall Out of Boy Meets World
It might be nearly 25 years since the last episode of Boy Meets World aired on the Disney Channel, but some of its stars are still making headlines, and it’s not typically for very good things.
In June 2022, Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle — who played Cory’s brother Eric — started their very own podcast, Pod Meets World. Since then, a lot of interesting, and sometimes disappointing, things have come to light.
During one episode, Fishel shared that she was the person who made McGee feel uncomfortable on the set of Girl Meets World. Friedle also shared that he was the one who had given McGee the racist nickname of “Aunt Jemima” and they both apologized.
On a more disturbing note, in another episode, Strong and Friedle shared that they wrote letters to a judge on behalf of Brian Peck, defending his character after Peck admitted to repeatedly sexually assaulting an underage actor. While the actor’s name was withheld at the time, it was later revealed that the actor was Drake & Josh star, Drake Bell.
Strong and Friedle said they were sorry and tried to defend their mental state at the time. However, Drake Bell spoke out, saying that he had seen both of them since the trial, and neither one apologized for what they did.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Trina McGee and her husband on the loss of their child.
