Elon Musk, the renowned CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently made headlines when he publicly criticized CEO Bob Iger of the Walt Disney Company for the decision to pull advertisements from Musk’s social media platform, X. This move by Iger drew significant attention and sparked a debate surrounding the power dynamics between media giants and the effects of advertising boycotts.
Musk vs Disney Takes Dramatic Twist
Musk’s outspoken “free speech” nature is well-known, and he didn’t hesitate to express his disapproval of Iger’s decision to abandon X after Musk promoted an “antisemetic conspiracy theory” on the platform. In a series of tweets, he called out the Disney CEO, questioning the underlying rationale behind the withdrawal of advertisements from X. Musk’s tweets ignited a virtual firestorm, with social media users divided in their opinions on the matter.
Now, Musk’s vengeance for Disney has reached a new level.
In the midst of this highly publicized feud between Elon Musk and Bob Iger, Tesla has made the decision to remove the Disney+ streaming service from its vehicles. This move has sparked widespread discussions and raised questions about the potential impact of social media feuds on business partnerships and consumer experiences.

The decision by Tesla to remove Disney+ from their vehicles may have been a consequence of this social media advertisement feud. Although Tesla has not explicitly stated the reason behind this move, many speculate that it could be a result of Musk’s personal vendetta against Iger after Disney stopped advertising on X. This action, however, has stirred up discussions regarding the potential impact on consumer satisfaction and the overall perception of Tesla as a company that provides quality entertainment options in its vehicles.
How Will This Affect Disney?
Disney+, the highly popular streaming service from the Walt Disney Company, offers a vast array of entertainment content, including movies, TV shows, and original programming. Its integration into Tesla vehicles allowed passengers to enjoy these offerings during their journeys, creating an enhanced and immersive experience. With the removal of Disney+ from Tesla vehicles, this additional source of entertainment is no longer available to Tesla owners and passengers.
For many fans, this removal is a clear retaliation by Musk. As of now, Disney has not commented on this situation. In the weeks to come, it will be fascinating to see what the impact of this removal will be on the Disney+ streaming platform.
Considering it’s not the vast majority of people who own the Tesla, I seriously doubt it will have much impact on Disney. It could have a negative impact on Musk though since consumers want what they want, and are tired of these companies making decisions for us regarding products, and doing retaliations for companies making a decision that they deem necessary on their beliefs. This is all getting out of hand.
