Disney Announces the Last Day To Ride the Haunted Mansion Attraction
Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, is preparing for its much-loved annual seasonal transformation of the Haunted Mansion attraction. However, the beloved classic version will soon be temporarily closed as the ride transitions into its festive holiday overlay. Guests have until August 8, 2025, to experience the original version before it undergoes its seasonal transformation. The Haunted Mansion will close on August 9 and is scheduled to reopen as Haunted Mansion Holiday on August 22, 2025, running through January 7, 2026.
The Classic Versionβs Last Ride Before Transformation
The Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, inspired by Tim Burtonβs The Nightmare Before Christmas, has become an annual Disney tradition. The overlay offers a spooky yet whimsical holiday experience with familiar characters such as Jack Skellington and Zero. Guests can look forward to seeing the mansion adorned with a mixture of Halloween and Christmas decorations, a unique blend that merges the eerie charm of the Haunted Mansion with the jolly spirit of the holiday season. This short closure will be met with bittersweet emotions as many Disney fans eagerly await the return of the holiday transformation, while others will miss the original version of the ride.

Maintenance and Refurbishment During the Closure
Along with the festive makeover, the closure will also allow for routine maintenance and updates to keep the attraction in top shape. Disneyland guests hoping to experience the classic Haunted Mansion before it transforms should plan their visit prior to August 9, as the ride will be unavailable for those seeking the traditional experience.
To stay updated on the attraction’s reopening and other important park information, guests can check the Disneyland app or official website for real-time updates. The seasonal overlay is expected to once again be a crowd favorite, bringing festive cheer and spooky fun to the park.
