Disney Adds Back One of EPCOT’s Best Heat Escapes for Summer Guests

Something has been missing in EPCOT’s France Pavilion lately, and if you’ve walked through that area over the past few months, you probably felt it. The charm is still there. The music, the architecture, the smell of fresh pastries—it all hits the same. But one of the pavilion’s most relaxing experiences has been off the table.

That’s about to change.

Disney has officially confirmed that the films inside the Palais du Cinéma will return on May 10, bringing back both Impressions de France and the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along after a refurbishment that started back in February. The closure lasted just under three months, which is fairly standard for this kind of work, but long enough for guests to notice.

And they definitely did.

A Quiet But Important Reopening

This isn’t the kind of update that comes with fireworks or long wait times, but it matters more than people think. EPCOT has always been about more than rides, and the France Pavilion is one of the best examples of that. It’s about atmosphere, culture, and slowing things down for a bit.

The theater plays a big role in that balance.

Without it, the pavilion still looks great—but it feels like something’s missing. There’s no easy place to sit, cool off, and take in something uniquely EPCOT.

That’s why this reopening is a bigger deal than it might seem at first glance.

What Guests Can Expect

Disney hasn’t shared specific details about what was updated inside the theater, but the expectation is that this was more about maintenance than major changes. Fresh seating, updated flooring, and general improvements to keep everything comfortable and running smoothly.

In other words, don’t expect a brand-new experience—but do expect a cleaner, more polished version of what was already there.

Both films will return when the theater reopens. Impressions de France continues to offer a scenic look at the country through sweeping visuals and music, while the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along brings a more upbeat, family-friendly energy.

The mix of the two is very intentional.

EPCOT has been leaning into that balance lately—keeping classic experiences alive while making room for newer, more recognizable Disney storytelling.

Timing Will Matter

Here’s where things get a little tricky.

While both films are returning, they won’t be treated equally when it comes to scheduling. Impressions de France will still run in limited windows, usually early in the morning and again near park closing. That means you’ll need to plan ahead if it’s something you really want to see.

Most of the day will be dedicated to the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, which tends to draw bigger crowds.

From a guest perspective, that makes sense. But it also means the more traditional EPCOT experience isn’t quite as accessible as it used to be.

A Smart Return Just in Time for Summer

As EPCOT heads into one of its busiest seasons, having another indoor attraction back online is a big win. Anyone who’s spent a summer day walking World Showcase knows how valuable those break spots are.

This is one of the best ones.

It’s quiet, it’s cool, and it gives you a chance to reset before heading back out into the crowds.

Why It Still Matters

EPCOT is changing. There’s no question about that. But moments like this show that Disney isn’t completely moving away from what made the park special in the first place.

The France Pavilion films may not be the main reason people visit, but they’re part of what makes the park feel complete.

And starting May 10, that piece of the experience will finally be back.
