Fans are not going to be pleased about this news.
Visiting one of the Disney Parks is not cheap. Between the costs of tickets, accommodations, food, transportation, and merchandise, a trip to the happiest and more magical places on earth comes at a cost. That’s why when Guests get into the theme Park, they expect to make every second count.
One of the worst things that can happen when you are visiting a Park is having your favorite ride closed. Closures happen all the time due to maintenance issues, but more permanent closures are much more rare. Fans of two iconic attractions will be saddened to know that this ride will be closed nearly all summer long.
Fantasyland Sees Massive Closures
Right now, three rides at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, are closed down for refurbishment. The rides in question are Peter Pan’s Flight, Alice in Wonderland, and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. These three rides actually share a show building which is why they are closed at the same time.
Since the beginning of June, this trio of Fantasyland attractions have been closed. Understandably, fans visiting the Parks have been saddened to see a chunk of the Park being closed entirely. Unfortunately, the closure is far from over for two of these rides.

Mr. Toad and Alice Need Work!
It has been announced that Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in Disneyland Park will be opening back up again tomorrow, June 15, before closing again on July 24 for a second round of refurbishment. The ride is then supposed to reopen on August 11. Mr. Toad is a character from the movie The Wind in the Willows. This unique ride takes Guests on a thrilling journey through the countryside, the town, and even hell! While some criticize the ride for being too scary, others like how quirky it is and admire its history.
Some fans are shocked that Disney is allowing this ride to be closed for so much time during the busy season, but realistically, the ride needs some major work done. Since it has been around for so long, it needs some extra TLC.
Alice in Wonderland is also closing once again this summer. The ride will be opening on June 15 before it closes again on July 5 to July 20, 2023.
Update: Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride reopens tomorrow (June 16) — however it will close again on July 24 to allow for the second half of refurbishment work to be completed, according to @bmacdonald. The ride is scheduled to reopen again on Aug. 11.https://t.co/fjg10UGpCS pic.twitter.com/nsRVkvuUDQ
