Although fans of Disney’s Princess and the Frog (2009) are excited to see Princess Tiana in her own attraction, fans of Splash Mountain are unwilling to accept that the times are changing.

All in all, the retheming of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a total win/win for everyone involved. Disney wins because the company gets a chance to grow past its past racism (or sweep it under the rug, depending on who you ask), fans of Princess and the Frog get an attraction, and the log flume attraction itself gets a much-needed facelift.

Make no mistake, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will give the old ride track the TLC it desperately needs. Unfortunately for fans of the original, it was simply time for Splash Mountain to go to its eternal ‘Laughing Place.’ Not only was the history less-than-flattering for Walt Disney Studios, but the attractions and ride vehicles were literally falling apart and on their last legs.
But fans of the original attraction simply cannot handle the truth, it seems. For every fan excited about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you’ll find two or three who are all too excited to share their disappointment.
One fan of Splash Mountain, in particular, posted a silly, childish video on social media, expressing her distaste for Princess Tiana. Although the original video has since been taken down, it can still be seen in this TikTok stitch:

In this video, a fan of the recently deceased Splash Mountain says to a Princess Tiana Funko Pop, “You ruined Splash Mountain. Turn around, nobody wants to see you.”
Not only is this behavior childish and petty, but it’s also downright mean-spirited. The original poster must have realized the reception was not what she expected and deleted her video.
Debby downers aside, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is ‘Almost There!’
