At the time of this article’s publication, the Walt Disney Company is currently holding its Third Quarter 2023 Financial Results Conference Call, and CEO Bob Iger just spoke out, confirming some big news for fans to look forward to…or to dread, depending on who you ask.

While CEO Bob Iger had a lot to touch on during the Third Quarter 2023 Financial Results Conference Call, one of the biggest things he touched on was the importance of IPs for the Walt Disney Company.
During this call, Bob Iger emphasized how big of a place IPs have in each Disney Park.
For example, the World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland and the City of Zootopia in Shanghai Disneyland are set to open soon, both of which are highly anticipated by both the Walt Disney Company and Guests alike.

In short, Bob Iger has just confirmed that going forward, each Disney Resort will only see more of the Walt Disney Company’s vast list of IPs, including Walt Disney World.
From Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios to EPCOT, it seems that Guests can expect more IPs to make their presence known in Disney Parks.

Unfortunately, much of the Disney fanbase will be disappointed to hear this news. The most memorable and iconic Disney attractions are beloved, in part, due to how original they are.
Rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and “it’s a small world” have all withstood the test of time.

Many fans feel that this is due to the original ideas behind them and the lack of a tie-in to an intellectual property. Not only that, but many Guests are open in their disappointment regarding the prevalence of IPs in Disney Parks.
However, money talks, and its voice is much louder than any Guest’s, especially when the Walt Disney Company is the listener.
