No more Park hopping today! Magic Kingdom has reached capacity on the first day of the 50th anniversary celebration

Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World has officially reached capacity today as crowds of fans gather to celebrate the kickoff of Disney World’s Most Magical Celebration.

Guests in the parks have just received push notifications that park hopping is no longer an option at this time because of Magic Kingdom’s capacity.

The message, directly from Walt Disney World through the My Disney Experience app, lets Guests know that the Magic Kingdom is full:

“The Park Hopper option is temporarily unavailable at Magic Kingdom Park as we continue to carefully manage our attendance. For current availability, please call 407-560-5000.”

And though the message says that park hopping is “temporarily unavailable,” chances are that it will remain unavailable for the duration of the day today as Guests make their way to Magic Kingdom to celebrate inside the park where it all began 50 years ago today, thus adding to the number of Guests in the park, not detracting from it.

Magic Kingdom is open today until 11:00 p.m., and many Guests are headed to Magic Kingdom for one of the best parts of the 50th anniversary celebration.

Disney’s brand-new nighttime spectacular, Disney Enchantment, debuts tonight, and some Guests who visited other parks today via the Park Hopper option may have made their way to Magic Kingdom to enjoy the park for a few hours before locating a prime piece of real estate in front of the castle for tonight’s debut performance.

There have been so many enhancements around the parks in the past few months gearing up for the Most Magical Celebration on Earth. From brand-new attractions and restaurants to beautiful new EARidescent costuming for Mickey, Minnie and the gang, the surprises just keep coming, and we can’t wait to see what else is in store for the 50th anniversary celebration which began today and will keep going through March 31, 2023!
