Downtown Disney is currently undergoing a massive transformation. There are new shops, new food spots, and new entertainment to discover around every corner, but one new addition, in particular, has us excited! The courtyard next to Splittsville will soon become the best spot in California to hang out with your friends and relax! Introducing: The Alley!
This exciting new area will be home to every kind of recreation you can imagine. The Alley will feature interactive games to get you out of your shell and live music to help you dance the night away! The area will also feature seating with spaces for dining. With all of the delicious food from Splitsville mere steps away, you’ve got a recipe for the perfect Friday night in my book.

There is so much to see and do at Downtown Disney, and this may not seem like much, but it actually fills a much-needed hole in the area. There are places to spend and eat galore but few spots to just hang out. The Alley will fill that void perfectly, and we suspect it will become one of the most popular spots to see and be seen at Disneyland Resort! We love the interactive elements coming to the area.
Unlike Walt Disney World, space at Disneyland is at a premium. They just don’t have the same room for growth that they have in Florida, so any unused space is a problem. The Alley will breathe new life into this disused courtyard making it valuable real estate once again.
We are excited to get our friends together and go hang out, but we will have to be patient. Disney has not said when The Alley will open specifically, only that it is “coming soon this summer.” We will keep an eye out and let you know once more firm opening dates are released.
