With his return to the Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger has wasted no time getting started. One of his first official acts was to get rid of Chapek’s right-hand man, Kareem Daniel, and made some big announcements for the future structure of the company. The restructuring of the company has led to much excitement but also many questions.
Bob Iger, who has always strived to be as transparent as he is personable, seeks to answer those questions. He will host a Town Hall meeting for employees and Cast Members on Monday, November 28, 2022, at 12:00 pm est (9:00 am pst). The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss future plans and answer questions about Iger’s vision for the company.
In an internal email, the newly reinstated CEO said: “Dear Fellow Cast Members and Employees, On Monday, I will be returning to the Walt Disney Studio Lot, a place I’ve always loved. I’m eager to be rejoining dear colleagues and meeting new team members who’ve become part of our company this past year. To start the week off, please join me in a Town Hall at 9:00 am PT Monday, where I will talk about the future of this incredible company and answer your questions about the work ahead as we build on Disney’s legacy of creativity, innovation, and inspiration…I hope you will join me.”
The email sounded very positive and upbeat, with even perhaps an air of excitement. Iger has always done well at getting a crowd on board with his vision, and this meeting should be no different. Thus far, in all communications, he has been joyous.
He has not addressed Bob Chapek or the problems within the company directly in any public forum since his return to his position at the helm. Instead, he has simply rolled up his sleeves and gotten down to business. Placing blame doesn’t appear to be part of his current trajectory.
The meeting is only open to current employees and Cast and will not be available for public attendance. Never fear though, as always we have you covered. Stay tuned Monday as we bring coverage of the meeting and discuss what it all could mean for the future of the company.
