Beloved ‘Star Wars’ Character Not Expected To Return in Next Series Despite Major Potential
Five years after her debut, Lop remains one of the most visually distinctive and emotionally compelling Jedi-adjacent characters introduced during the Disney era of Star Wars. And yet, despite strong fan reception, the character has seemingly vanished from the franchise entirely.

First introduced in “Lop and Ochō,” one of the standout episodes from Star Wars: Visions Volume 1 (2021), Lop immediately stood apart from other Force users in the franchise.
The young Lepi warrior featured a striking visual design inspired by samurai cinema, complete with a green lightsaber etched with engravings, a single-lens visor, an umbrella glider, and a hovering droid companion named TD-4. Combined with the episode’s emotionally charged family drama, it didn’t take long for fans to begin asking for more.

Unfortunately, Lucasfilm has yet to revisit the character. Star Wars: Visions returned with Volume 2 in 2023 and Volume 3 in 2025, the latter even introducing sequels to popular episodes such as “The Duel,” “The Village Bride,” and “The Ninth Jedi.” However, “Lop and Ochō” was notably absent from those follow-ups despite ending on a major unresolved cliffhanger.
Earlier this year, industry insider Daniel Richtman reported that Star Wars: Visions Volume 4 is now in development. Meanwhile, “The Ninth Jedi” is receiving its own anime continuation series under the all-new Star Wars: Visions Presents banner on Disney+. That makes Lop’s absence even more surprising.

Unlike many anthology characters who were clearly designed for standalone stories, Lop feels like someone with enormous long-term franchise potential. Not only could she easily headline another animated project, but she also feels uniquely suited for live action.
Star Wars has already proven willing to bring animated characters into live action through figures such as Ahsoka Tano, Bo-Katan Kryze, Sabine Wren, and Cad Bane. Lop’s distinctive appearance and tragic backstory could easily translate into future Disney+ storytelling if Lucasfilm ever chose to revisit her. There’s also obvious Disney Parks potential for the character.

The Star Wars franchise has also spent years heavily focused on characters like Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal)/The Mandalorian and Grogu, but Lop arguably has the kind of instantly recognizable silhouette and visual identity that theme parks, merchandise lines, and live experiences thrive on.
For now, though, the character appears to have been quietly abandoned.
Outside of Star Wars: Visions: The Manga Anthology, a book that adapted the original episode into manga form, Lop has yet to appear anywhere else in the wider franchise. This is a huge shame because “Lop and Ochō” remains one of the strongest standalone stories Star Wars has produced during the Disney era, even though it isn’t canon.
