It’s happening, Disney fans! Entertainment is making a comeback and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see the return of many of our favorites. From “A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King” to “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage“, we’ve seen entertainers return to work at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Along with the Parks, some of the best of the best entertainment on the property will also be making a return. We previously shared the news that Yehaa Bob Jackson is heading back to Disney’s Port Orleans when it reopens next month. And now, YES – another Disney Resort favorite is returning to the stage.
This time we shift on over to Disney’s BoardWalk Resort! Scotty Kilwein, a BoardWalk Jellyrolls piano player, took to his Facebook page to share a teaser on Thursday noting: “I’m SUPER excited to share some good news… Maybe at 9:30 pm EST Friday Night!” Of course, all of us that follow along with Scotty were hopeful that could mean only one thing…. could the Jellyrolls dueling piano bar be REOPENING?!
Throughout the pandemic, Scotty has been performing live on his piano via his Facebook page which has given us a dose of Jellyrolls right at home. He noted he has done around 230 live streams in total through the COVID shutdown. At 9:00 am on Friday night, September 10, Scotty went live. For the first 30 minutes, he played tunes while we all eagerly awaited the big news at 9:30 pm. Right at 9:30 pm, Scotty announced he is going back to work! Jellyrolls will be opening in “mid-October”. We have no date just yet, but “mid-October” will be here soon enough! Scotty even noted his viewers were the first to find out.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Swan & Dolphin Hotels, Disney’s Yacht Club, and Disney’s Beach Club Resorts are all easily accessible to Jellyrolls, as well as the two Disney Parks, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. The Walt Disney World Jellyrolls webpage has remained through the COVID 19 shut down describing Jellyrolls as: “A Grand Good Time: Raise a glass as you enjoy the musical stylings of a pair of piano prodigies. No request is too obscure. These musical maestros can play anything. Well, almost anything. Go ahead—try to stump them! Take your seat in front of a stage featuring twin baby grand pianos—and enjoy the show. The players take turns dazzling the audience with their showmanship and easy rapport. It’s a great time all around!”
YES! We are so excited to see the return of Jellyrolls to Disney’s BoardWalk area! We have so many good memories, and a night listening to these dueling pianos never lets us down. Keep in mind that Jellyrolls is a popular nightspot for Guests 21 and older. The space fills up fast, so arrive early to pay your cover charge and snag a table. Welcome back to Scotty and all the impressive Jellyrolls entertainers! Next, we’re hoping to see the reopening of BoardWalk’s Flying Fish restaurant as it has yet to return to the Walt Disney World dining list. In the meantime, we’ll be enjoying a drink or two, and singing along at Jellyrolls!
