Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host, your ghosthost. Kindly step all the way in please, and make room for everyone. There’s no turning back now.
One of the most iconic Disney attractions is, without a doubt, the Haunted Mansion. Since its Disneyland debut in 1969, the ride has seemingly only increased in popularity, and now there are Haunted Mansion attractions at nearly all the Disney Parks around the world, with the exception of Shanghai Disneyland. Each Haunted Mansion attraction has its own unique look and story. Some of them even have different names — in Disneyland Paris, the attraction is called Phantom Manor and at Hong Kong Disneyland, it is known as Mystic Manor.
At Disneyland Resort in California, the Haunted Mansion is located in New Orleans Square, and it is designed to look like an old southern estate. There are old columns along the front of the house, with a wrap-around balcony on the top. There is also an old family cemetery located at the back of the house, and a newer pet cemetery located at the front. Just like Walt Disney World, there is a horse-drawn hearse out in front of the house. Although the horse cannot be seen, if you listen closely, it can definitely be heard.
Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion is a legendary building that Disneylanders know and love. The building is so recognizable that LEGO has designed a complete Haunted Mansion set — complete with your very own Ghost Host! The new set is scheduled to be released on August 1, and you can take a look at the amazing set below.
As you can see, the new Haunted Mansion LEGO set does not just show the outside of the house. The house also shows the classic birthday scene that Guests ride past in their Doom Buggies on their way through the Haunted Mansion.
