An EPCOT Tradition Makes Its Return This Holiday Season

It may only be June, but the Walt Disney Company is definitely getting into the Holiday spirit!

Right now, Disney is celebrating the halfway mark to the Holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. This season is an incredibly special time to visit the Parks, and Guests have been patiently awaiting news of what they can expect to see this year. Disney is known to pull out all the stops for their Holiday celebrations, so the expectations were high going into this season’s announcements.

Luckily for everyone, Disney has delivered an incredible lineup of announcements and events coming to the Disney Parks. This morning, Walt Disney World Resort announced some incredible offerings, new and old, that will be making the Parks merry this holiday season.

Walt Disney World Resort Will Be Holly Jolly This Holiday Season

The holiday season at Walt Disney World is enchanting and magical. From Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom to the stunning decorations at each Disney Park, Guests can expect nothing but the best of holiday cheer.

For many families, the holiday season is about traditions. While new events like the holiday party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are exciting, many fans look forward to cherishing their favorite holiday staples. Among these treasured festivities is the much-loved EPCOT Candlelight Processional, a timeless tradition that has been taking place since 1958.

For those who are unfamiliar, the EPCOT Candlelight Processional is an annual event that takes place in the America Gardens Theatre in the World Showcase section of the Park. The ceremony features a massive choir of talented singers who perform classic Christmas carols such as “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” and “The First Noel.” Accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra, the choir is led by a celebrity narrator who reads the story of Christmas.

A Treasured Christmas Tradition

For many fans, the Candlelight Processional highlights the true magic of the Holidays. This event is one of the highlights of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, beginning November 24 until December 30. EPCOT Guests will also be able to enjoy other traditions, including the spirited storytellers, musical performances, and Holiday Kicthens at World Showcase.

This Holiday season is already shaping up to become incredibly magical. Guests should be ready to have an incredibly merry time!
