On January 14, authorities were called to the home of actor Alec Musser. Sadly, they were too late; the actor was already dead by the time they got there. He was just 50 years old.
Musser’s death was confirmed by his fiancée, Paige Press. However, she did not initially reveal exactly how he had died. Musser’s uncle also confirmed the I Wanna Be a Soap Star’s death, but also did not say how he had died.
Now, just days later, we finally have an answer.
On Tuesday, January 16, The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Musser had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The report stated that his fiancée had seen him the night before, and when she woke up, he was slumped over the bathroom floor. He reportedly had used a shotgun, which was found near him.

After news of Musser’s death broke, his fiancée shared a series of posts on her Instagram story. Press called Musser the “best fiancé” and called the day he died, “the worst day of her life.”

Musser was best known for playing the role of Del Henry on the hit ABC soap opera, All My Children. He snagged the role after being the winner of the reality show, I Wanna Be a Soap Star.
He also had a memorable role in the film Grown Ups, which starred Adam Sandler, David Spade, Salma Hayek, and Kevin James.
Shortly after news of Musser’s death broke, his costars shared tributes to him on social media. Both Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek shared fond memories of working with Musser on Grown Ups.

In addition to starring in All My Children and Grown Ups (2010), he also appeared in Desperate Housewives, The Phantom Executioner (2010), and Road to the Altar (2009).
