Today is EPCOT’s 40th anniversary, and they are celebrating in a big way! The Park is celebrating its past, present, and future. From specialty food, to presentations and entertainment to limited-time merchandise, you’ll find everything to make the anniversary truly special. This will be a day to remember for EPCOT lovers. Let’s dive in and look at all of the days to celebrate our favorite Park!

First off there are sweets, treats, and eats galore today. EPCOT is far and away the best Park for food anyway but today it really shines. From the Figment Lime and Honey Sponge Cake, to a specialty margarita and everything in between! You’ll find unique menu items today in the following restaurants:

No Disney Celebration is complete without merchandise. Guests in the Park today can receive a free commemorative poster, much like they did on the Resorts 50th and Hollywood Studios 30th.

We recently reported on many of the unique items available for the anniversary but this one deserves special mention. Figment. Spaceship Earth. What more do you need? This figure lights up and is the perfect way to show your Disney side on your desk, bookshelf or anywhere else that needs “one little spark of inspiration.”

The entertainment in the Park is going to be as special as the Park itself is. Beacons of Light (the new lights on Spaceship Earth) will twinkle and dazzle with a new show just for the celebration.

Additionally at 11:00 am there is a special ceremony in American Gardens Theater to celebrate EPCOT through the years! Throughout the day there will be special music, dance, and maybe a surprise or two in store around the Park to celebrate.

Be sure to check out all of the new additions to EPCOT today, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure too. The Park is in the middle of a massive transformation that will continue EPCOT into the next 40 years!

About Jill Bivins

Jill Bivins has been visiting Disney Parks since she was 2 years old and loves sharing her Disney adventures with the world. She likes to say Disney is in her blood and writing is in her bones — so any time she has the opportunity to combine these loves she is one happy camper! She has a deep abiding love for Epcot and as a die hard Star Wars fan has a serious love for Hollywood Studios as well. When she isn't exploring or writing about Disney Parks, Jill is homeschooling her 8 year old son, playing with her brand new baby son, or pretending to be a farmer on her family homestead (despite being unable to keep even a cactus alive).
