‘Wednesday’ Season 3 Filming Officially Completed by Netflix Ahead of 2027 Release
Wednesday Addams has officially reached an important point on the road back to Netflix.
Fans still don’t know exactly when Wednesday Season 3 will arrive, but one of the biggest parts of making the new season is now complete. After months of production, Netflix has confirmed that filming has wrapped.
That puts the series into its next phase at an interesting time. Season 2 left Wednesday with several problems demanding her attention, while Netflix has continued to add new characters and expand the Addams family mystery.
Now that the cameras have stopped rolling, the focus can turn to getting those episodes ready for viewers.
Seven Months of Filming Have Come to an End
Production for Season 3 of Wednesday began near Dublin in February 2026.
Roughly seven months later, filming wrapped in late September. Netflix celebrated the occasion by sharing a new look at Jenna Ortega as Wednesday sitting at her recognizable typewriter.
Wrapping principal photography represents a major milestone, but the season isn’t ready to arrive on Netflix just yet.
There is still considerable post-production work ahead. Between editing, sound, visual effects, supernatural characters, and the unusual environments that help create the world of Wednesday, the footage still needs plenty of finishing work.
The good news is that the production stage itself is now behind the series. Instead of waiting for filming to finish, fans can start looking toward what comes next.
And naturally, that means attention is turning toward a potential premiere.

A Release Date Remains One of the Biggest Mysteries
Wednesday Season 3 is currently expected to arrive sometime in 2027.
Netflix, however, has not officially confirmed a 2027 release or announced a specific premiere date. That means the year remains an expected window rather than an official commitment from the streaming company.
Finishing production before October 2026 at least gives the team months to complete the remaining work.
Netflix also hasn’t revealed how it plans to release Season 3.
Season 2 debuted in two parts, with episodes arriving across August and September 2025. Whether Netflix will repeat that approach or release Season 3 all at once remains unknown.
While the release strategy is still a mystery, fans already know where Wednesday’s story needs to go next.

Season 2 Gave Wednesday a New Mission
Wednesday didn’t exactly finish Season 2 with everything neatly resolved.
One of the biggest questions surrounds Enid Sinclair, who transformed into an Alpha werewolf. Her uncertain situation left her preparing to search for her with Uncle Fester rather than simply return home.
Tyler Galpin is another unresolved piece of the story.
Wednesday chose to let Tyler live, meaning the Hyde remains out there and could create more trouble in the future.
But the Addams family itself may provide Season 3 with its most intriguing mystery.
Wednesday received a vision involving Aunt Ophelia, Morticia’s long-missing sister. An ominous message also suggested that Wednesday could be in danger, leaving another major question hanging over the story.
Season 3 is already preparing to dig deeper into that mystery.

New Faces Are Joining the Addams Family Mystery
Eva Green will officially play Aunt Ophelia, bringing the character into a much larger role after her Season 2 tease. Creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have indicated that Ophelia’s return will have major consequences for the family.
Wednesday’s search for Enid also appears likely to carry the story beyond Nevermore.
Netflix has teased a trip to Paris, suggesting the next chapter will expand Wednesday’s world while continuing storylines established during Season 2.
Nevermore Academy will remain important, too.
Wednesday and her classmates are entering their senior year. With adulthood approaching, questions about what comes next will become increasingly important. Ortega has indicated those ideas will factor into the season.
There will also be plenty of new characters.
Winona Ryder joins as Tabitha, with Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer among the other newcomers. Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance will appear as guest stars.
Ortega, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Fred Armisen, and Isaac Ordonez are among the returning cast members.
Tim Burton will also return as an executive producer and director.

Now the Waiting Game Really Begins
Finishing production answers one major question about Wednesday Season 3, but plenty remain.
Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed a 2027 premiere, provided an exact release date, or explained how the new episodes will arrive. The full implications of Enid’s transformation, Tyler’s survival, and Ophelia’s return also remain unknown.
Still, the series has cleared one of its biggest hurdles.
After spending much of 2026 in production, filming is complete, and the new season can move toward its final form.
A 2027 return may be expected rather than official for now, but Wednesday Addams is getting closer to returning to Netflix.
