Netflix Recruits ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Stranger Things’ Stars for ‘Wednesday’ Season 3
Netflix isn’t revealing every secret about Wednesday Season 3 just yet, but it is giving fans plenty to talk about. As production moves forward, the streamer has confirmed a growing list of familiar faces joining Jenna Ortega for another visit to Nevermore Academy.
The returning cast already gave viewers plenty of reasons to get excited, but the newest additions bring experience from some of television’s biggest franchises. Several actors known for shows like Game of Thrones and Stranger Things are stepping into the strange world of the Addams Family, adding even more intrigue to a season that’s already generating plenty of anticipation.
Although many story details remain hidden, the latest announcements offer a clearer picture of who will be involved when Wednesday’s next mystery begins.

Familiar Faces Return to Nevermore Academy
Season 3 won’t be starting from scratch. Many of the characters who helped make the series one of Netflix’s biggest successes are coming back for another round of supernatural adventures.
Confirmed returning cast members include:
- Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega)
- Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers)
- Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones)
- Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán)
- Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez)
- Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan)
- Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday)
- Eugene Ottinger (Moosa Mostafa)
- Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen)
- Thing (Victor Dorobantu)
With so many familiar characters returning, Season 3 looks ready to build on unresolved storylines from the previous season while introducing new mysteries that stretch beyond what viewers have already seen at Nevermore Academy.

Eva Green and Winona Ryder Bring New Mysteries
Among all of the newly announced cast members, Eva Green and Winona Ryder have attracted the most attention.
Green will play Aunt Ophelia, Morticia Addams’ long-lost sister, who was believed to be missing. Netflix has teased that Ophelia’s disappearance left lasting scars on the Addams Family, and her reemergence is expected to have major consequences. Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar have even described her arrival as something that will “hit this family like a bomb.”
Ryder is joining the series as a mysterious new character named Tabitha. Netflix has shared very little information about her role, leaving fans to wonder how she’ll fit into the story. Her casting also reunites her with Jenna Ortega after both appeared in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024). It’s another collaboration with executive producer Tim Burton, who has worked with Ryder several times throughout his career.
With both actresses bringing years of experience in fantasy, mystery, and gothic storytelling, they seem like natural additions to the world of Wednesday.

Several More New Cast Members Join the Series
Netflix also revealed several other actors who will appear during Season 3. While some character names have been announced, many details remain secret.
- Chris Sarandon as Balthazar — Known for The Princess Bride (1987), Sarandon joins the series in a newly announced role.
- Lena Headey — The Game of Thrones star will appear in a guest-starring role that remains undisclosed.
- Noah Taylor as Cyrus — Best known for Game of Thrones and Peaky Blinders, Taylor takes on another mysterious character.
- James Lance — The Ted Lasso actor has been cast in a guest-starring role.
- Oscar Morgan as Atticus — Morgan, known for Gotham Knights and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, joins the growing ensemble.
- Andrew McCarthy — The St. Elmo’s Fire (1985) actor has also signed on for a guest appearance.
- Kennedy Moyer as Daisy — Previously seen in Task and Roofman, Moyer rounds out the latest additions.
Netflix has only identified some of these characters so far, leaving several roles under wraps. The show’s creators have teased that viewers will meet new students and teachers while uncovering additional Addams Family secrets during the upcoming season.

Here’s What Season 3 Is Teasing So Far
According to Netflix, Season 3 will continue the story after the dramatic events that closed Season 2. One of the biggest storylines centers on Aunt Ophelia and how her reemergence affects Wednesday and the rest of the Addams Family.
The series will also introduce more faces around Nevermore Academy, including new students and faculty members. Family history, supernatural dangers, and fresh mysteries are all expected to play important roles as the story expands.
Netflix has also teased a trip to Paris during the season, though exactly how that visit connects to Wednesday’s latest mystery remains unknown.
Anticipation Continues to Grow
Netflix still has plenty of surprises waiting for fans, but the expanding cast already suggests that Season 3 will be larger in scope than ever before. Between the return of Jenna Ortega and much of the core cast, plus the arrival of stars like Winona Ryder, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, James Lance, Andrew McCarthy, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer, viewers will have no shortage of new characters to meet.
For now, many questions remain unanswered. That’s exactly how fans of Wednesday like it, and Netflix appears determined to keep the mystery alive until the next chapter finally arrives.
