The next James Bond movie remains shrouded in secrecy, but 007 has hardly been absent while fans wait for Amazon MGM Studios to reveal the franchise’s next leading man.
Denis Villeneuve (the Dune films) is attached to direct, with Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) writing and Amy Pascal (Spider-Man: Brand New Day) and David Heyman (the Harry Potter films) producing. The new film will follow Daniel Craig’s final appearance as Bond in No Time to Die (2021), although its lead actor remains unknown.
Now, an original version of the original 007 is returning.
Titan Comics is publishing Ian Fleming’s James Bond Signature Comic Strip Collection Vol. 1, a 296-page hardcover bringing together seven of the earliest full-length Bond newspaper comic-strip adaptations. The collection is scheduled to arrive in February 2027.
The stories are adapted from seven of Ian Fleming’s novels: Casino Royale, Live and Let Die, Moonraker, Diamonds Are Forever, From Russia, with Love, Dr. No, and Goldfinger. They originally appeared in newspaper strips between July 1958 and May 1961.

The collection features writing from Anthony Hern, Henry Gammidge, and Peter O’Donnell, with artwork by John McLusky. It also includes a gallery of original McLusky artwork selected from his family archive.
In the meantime, Bond has been turning up in some very different places.
007 First Light (2026) brought the character to video games this year, with Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin) starring as a 26-year-old James Bond at the beginning of his MI6 career. The game offers its own take on the iconic spy, while the literary side of the franchise has continued to grow.
Kim Sherwood’s Hurricane Room (2026) is now available, Charlie Higson’s King Zero (2026) is scheduled for September, and M.W. Craven’s James Bond and the Secret Agent Academy is due in 2027. Meanwhile, Big Finish Productions is bringing Charlie Higson’s SilverFin (2005) to audio in October, with Isaac Rouse (The Crown) starring as the teenage Bond in the upcoming audio drama series.
So, while everyone waits for Amazon MGM Studios to decide who will inherit the famous 007 role, one of Bond’s earliest incarnations is getting another chance in the spotlight.
