Amazon MGM Studios is preparing to relaunch James Bond on the big screen, but the iconic British spy is already expanding in ways that go well beyond the next film.
With Denis Villeneuve directing the franchise reboot, Bond is entering a new chapter. At the same time, the character continues to grow across multiple forms of entertainment, from IO Interactive’s hit video game 007 First Light to new novels and the upcoming audio adaptation of SilverFin.
That broader approach raises an intriguing question: where does James Bond go next?

James Bond Coming to Universal United Kingdom Resort?
Theme parks could represent the franchise’s next major evolution.
Universal is set to open its first UK theme park resort in 2031, and speculation has continued over which major entertainment properties could eventually become part of the destination.
While nothing has been announced, Bond remains one of the franchises fans frequently associate with the resort.
The formula certainly fits. For decades, Universal has transformed blockbuster properties into immersive experiences, from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to Jurassic World and Super Nintendo World.
James Bond shares many of the same qualities that make those franchises successful in a theme park setting. Exotic international locations, elaborate villains, cutting-edge gadgets, high-speed vehicles, and practical stunt work could all translate naturally into a major attraction.
Universal United Kingdom Resort could put a different spin on a potential James Bond land by taking guests beyond the famous movies and into the world of 007 itself.
Instead of focusing solely on recreating iconic film locations, an immersive Bond experience could be designed around MI6, giving visitors the chance to explore the agency’s headquarters and discover the gadgets and vehicles associated with Q Branch.
That approach would allow Universal to create an attraction that feels like an original Bond mission while still drawing on the elements fans know from the franchise. Guests could find themselves surrounded by the technology, espionage, and British intelligence operations that have defined 007 for decades.
And with Bond famous for elaborate car chases, explosions, aircraft, and hand-to-hand combat, the franchise would offer plenty of material for a major action-driven theme park experience.
Previous reports have suggested Universal United Kingdom Resort could explore a Bond-themed stunt show inspired by Universal Orlando’s Bourne Stuntacular, although no official plans have been confirmed.
For now, James Bond’s future remains focused on movies, games, books, and audio dramas. But as Amazon MGM Studios continues to broaden the franchise beyond cinema, it’s becoming increasingly clear that 007’s next mission may not always begin with a trip to the theater.
