Pedro Pascal Moves Beyond ‘The Mandalorian’ After Disney’s Latest Setback
The future of Star Wars may be uncertain, but Pedro Pascal’s career certainly isn’t.
After years of serving as the face behind Din Djarin in The Mandalorian (2019), Pascal is increasingly turning his attention toward a growing list of major film projects as Lucasfilm’s plans remain unclear following the disappointing performance of The Mandalorian and Grogu.
While fans continue to speculate about a possible fourth season, Lucasfilm has offered little indication about where the franchise is headed next. That uncertainty stands in sharp contrast to Pascal’s increasingly busy schedule.
At the top of that list is Avengers: Doomsday (2026).
The actor is set to reprise Reed Richards, Marvel’s Mister Fantastic, in the massive crossover event that will pit Earth’s heroes against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. For Pascal, it represents a major opportunity to establish himself as one of the MCU’s leading figures moving forward.
It’s also a role that could occupy a significant portion of his schedule for years to come.
Beyond Marvel, Pascal continues to attract attention from some of Hollywood’s most respected filmmakers.
He is attached to De Noche, a romantic drama from director Todd Haynes. Pascal will portray a detective opposite Danny Ramirez in what is expected to be a very different kind of performance from the action-heavy roles that helped make him a household name.
Another notable project is Behemoth!, an upcoming Searchlight film from writer-director Tony Gilroy. Pascal headlines the production alongside David Harbour and Will Arnett, adding yet another major studio film to his growing slate.
Taken together, these projects suggest that Pascal is entering one of the busiest periods of his career.
Meanwhile, the status of The Mandalorian (2019) remains a mystery.
Jon Favreau has previously stated that a fourth season was fully written, but Lucasfilm ultimately redirected its attention toward The Mandalorian and Grogu. Since then, the company has not publicly clarified whether those plans remain active or if the theatrical route has permanently replaced the Disney+ series.
That leaves Din Djarin’s future unresolved.
A return remains possible, especially given the character’s popularity with fans. However, Lucasfilm has yet to make any announcements, and Pascal’s growing list of commitments could make scheduling more complicated moving forward.
For now, the actor appears focused on building the next phase of his career outside the Star Wars universe. Between Marvel, prestige dramas, and major studio films, Pedro Pascal is proving that his future extends well beyond the helmet that made him famous.
