Phone Falling Into “it’s a small world” Sparks Debate About Guest Behavior at the Disney Parks
A relaxing boat ride at Disneyland Park took a startling turn for one family when a stranger’s cell phone dropped from above and landed just beside a young girl. The video of the moment has drawn thousands of likes and a lively argument about how serious it really was.
A Calm Cruise Interrupted

Jennifer Tzi, who runs the family travel blog Multigenerational Family Travel (@multigenerationalfamily_travel on Instagram), took her children to Disneyland Resort earlier this year. While they floated through the outdoor stretch of “it’s a small world,” a phone fell from the overhead bridge and nearly struck her daughter’s head.
Tzi posted a video of the incident on April 26 and compared it to a scene from the Final Destination (2000) film franchise.

“We were on ‘it’s a small world’ just enjoying the ride when suddenly a phone came flying down from above and almost hit my child,” she wrote. “Went from singing along to a full-on Final Destination moment real quick.”

The phone missed, and her daughter wasn’t hurt. The device itself probably didn’t fare as well, since it landed in the “it’s a small world” ride water.

Tzi used the post to urge other Disney Park guests to be careful with their belongings, both on rides and while walking near them.
“PSA: secure your phones, please 🙏,” she wrote. “This ride didn’t need a plot twist 😅.”
Commenters Split on the Drama
The clip collected more than 17,000 likes, along with plenty of views and opinions. Some viewers thought the reaction was overblown.

“Wow I feel bad for the person who lost [their] phone,” said @karlee_elaine28. “That was not a final destination scene.”
“Final destination scene’ and the worst outcome is a headache,” @robotic_jay wrote.
Others sided with Tzi and said the guest above bore the responsibility, sharing their own experiences with objects and mischief falling on riders.

“I was hit in the head with some kind of ball on a roller coaster, it was pretty painful…” @mrsdaniellecraig commented.
“Someone spit on us from the top of space mountain and we were just strapped in!” @billingtonsbride wrote. “We told the worker and they said the would look to see who did it and kick them out! It was gross!”
The takeaway most commenters could agree on is that anything held over a ledge or bridge at a Disney park can end up on guests below. Keeping phones in a pocket, bag, or secure strap while walking near attractions helps avoid another incident like this one.
