Disney World Issues Capacity Warning as Park Access Tightens Through May 23
Annual Passholders hoping to be among the first to experience a major Star Wars attraction update at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have already missed their window for guaranteed entry.
Reservations Wiped Out for May 22

As of Thursday, May 7, theme park reservations for Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 22 have sold out across all Annual Pass tiers at Walt Disney World Resort. Incredi Pass, Sorcerer Pass, Pirate Pass, and Pixie Dust Pass holders alike will find no availability remaining for that date. Any Passholder who doesn’t already have a confirmed reservation will be unable to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios until after 2:00 p.m. Even then, it’s not guaranteed if the park reaches capacity before then.

Passholders with reservations at another Walt Disney World Resort theme park on May 22 do have one option. Guests who scan into Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park can park hop to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at any point after their initial entry scan.
What’s Driving the Surge to Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The sellout comes as no surprise given what’s set to debut on May 22. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is launching a brand-new mission at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort — timed to coincide with the theatrical release of The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026) on the very same day.

The new mission places guests in the middle of a bounty hunt alongside Din Djarin and Grogu, chasing pirates and ex-Imperial officers through the galaxy. It also introduces something the attraction has never offered before: destination choice. For the first time, guests can select where they’re headed, with options spanning Bespin (Cloud City), the wreckage of the second Death Star near Endor, and the city-planet Coruscant.

How Ticket Type Affects Your Visit

Not every Central Florida Disney Park guest is subject to the same reservation rules. Walt Disney World Resort eliminated the theme park reservation requirement for date-based tickets, so most standard ticketholders heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 22 won’t need to take any additional steps before arriving. That said, certain non-date-based ticket types may still require a reservation. Guests with any uncertainty about their ticket should check their booking details well in advance of their visit to avoid any surprises at the gate.
