Multiple Walt Disney World Rides Closed Across Parks on January 10

Walt Disney World guests experienced an unusually disrupted park day on Saturday, January 10, when a large number of attractions across all four theme parks went offline temporarily. While ride downtime is never uncommon at Disney, the volume and timing of these closures—spanning from early morning into the evening—made this particular Saturday stand out.

Throughout the day, guests noticed attractions closing, reopening, and sometimes closing again. The pattern wasn’t isolated to one park or one category of ride. Instead, it stretched across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, impacting everything from classic family attractions to some of the resort’s most in-demand rides.

Magic Kingdom saw some of the most noticeable interruptions. Space Mountain experienced multiple periods of downtime during the afternoon, while Prince Charming Regal Carrousel briefly went offline later in the day. Peter Pan’s Flight and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover were also temporarily unavailable during the evening hours. Although each attraction eventually reopened, the staggered closures complicated touring plans for guests who had carefully mapped out their day.

EPCOT faced similar challenges as the day progressed. Journey into Imagination temporarily closed late in the morning before returning to operation. Test Track went offline during the evening hours, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind experienced a temporary closure as well. Turtle Talk with Crush also opened later than expected after beginning the day closed, contributing to shifting crowd patterns throughout the park.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest and Kali River Rapids experienced temporary closures earlier in the day. DINOSAUR went offline briefly in the late afternoon, while Kilimanjaro Safaris closed for portions of the evening. While nighttime safari closures are typical, the earlier interruptions added to the park’s operational inconsistency on Saturday.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios remained comparatively stable, but guests still felt the ripple effects. With attractions offline elsewhere, crowds concentrated around the park’s biggest draws. Slinky Dog Dash, Rise of the Resistance, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster all saw increased wait times as guests adjusted plans in response to closures at other parks.

Importantly, none of the January 10 ride closures were related to scheduled refurbishments or long-term shutdowns. These interruptions were operational in nature, likely tied to routine safety checks, technical resets, or weather-related factors. Disney did not issue any official statements, reinforcing that the downtime fell within normal operational parameters.

By Sunday, January 11, all attractions impacted by the closures were back up and running. Guests reported normal operations and more predictable wait times across the resort. While frustrating for those visiting on Saturday, the situation resolved quickly and without lingering effects.
